    Dell U2412M

So this was finally shipped on Friday, and arrived Monday. On Tuesday, the price dropped $70. I called customer service and explained to them the situation where I placed the order one month ago, received wrong ETAs in at least five "Consent to this order delay!" e-mails, then got it shipped...

    Dell U2412M

Now delayed to the August 26. I'll stop posting for now. I would like to hear if anyone ordered Dell Home U.S. around or after I did and got theirs. It seems like the Dell ETA system just adds half a week or so automatically for this order. It'd be a bit more honest if they gave a real ETA.

    Dell U2412M

Oh look, it's the 17th, and another automated e-mail. ETA is now August 23. I didn't hear from anyone else who ordered from Dell Home U.S. around the same time that's gotten theirs already, so I guess we're all in line.

    Dell U2412M

I just got another automated e-mail ... my order is now delayed until Thursday, August 18. I wonder what's going to happen when midnight August 17 rolls around. Has anyone else ordered Dell Home U.S.?

Gamer loving my new Asus 26" VK266H

I bought the VK266H off the egg two weeks ago, tried to use it for a couple days, couldn't stand it, took it out, and found out newegg has a no refund policy. Now I plugged it back in today again hoping to get used to it, and after 5 minutes had to remove it again. I don't know if it's just...

    Conroe bugs

Hi guys, theinquirer.net posted a couple stories: http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=33916 showing bugs in the Core 2 Duo, and http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=33942 saying a new stepping will be released to fix the bugs. Does anyone know if we as end users...

Bad News on Preorders on e6600/e6700 on tank guys

Can someone please post a URL where Intel said all Core 2 Duo models (from E6300 to E6700) would be "widely available" August 7? All the July 27 press release says is that E6300 to E6700 systems will be "available" (not "widely available") "beginning in early August"...

Cnoroe is great - but will we be able to buy it?

Oh yeah, outpost.com right now is showing OEM E6300 for $20 less than mwave.com, and it says it's In Stock, shipping 8/7. That sounds reliable ... E6400 and above are all either Pre-Order or not listed.

Cnoroe is great - but will we be able to buy it?

Well, I was wrong about Phase 1 and Phase 2. E6300 has stayed in stock at mwave.com for like three days now, although it was a 35% mark-up two days ago, today it's a 25% mark-up (if you buy just the CPU). I guess there are a lot more E6300 CPUs being produced than E6400 and above. So...

    Conroe allocation

http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=33393 One reseller told the INQ he'd been pestering distie Synnex for shipments but was told he'd just have to wait. He said: "We were told the CPUs are reserved for tier one customers like Dell, HP, Alienware and Falcon." ... Prices on the...

Well as I said a month ago this was a DUD launch

Here's what that today's press release from Intel says: (bold is mine) "Pricing and Availability Intel has been shipping production-ready Intel Core 2 Duo processors for all segments in advance of today's unveiling. Initial Intel Core 2 Extreme processor-based systems are now available...

Cnoroe is great - but will we be able to buy it?

FYI, http://www.microcenter.com/specials/core2_intro.html shows July 27 for X6800 and Aug 7 for the rest. http://www.shopblt.com shows E6400 coming Aug 2 in a batch of 3,000 to California, and E6600 and E6700 coming Aug 4 in batches of ~1,600 to SoCal, and X6800 coming Aug 4 in a batch of ~450...

Cnoroe is great - but will we be able to buy it?

Okay, the only date I posted was July 27 for Phase 1. Please estimate dates for Phase 2 and Phase 3, or is someone saying E6600 will be in stock at newegg.com and stay in stock at newegg.com on July 27?

Cnoroe is great - but will we be able to buy it?

This is my prediction of availability: Phase 1: X6800 - Expensive  These are hard to make because they have 4 MB of cache, and add to that, the new 65nm process. But if people are willing to pay $1000+ ... Phase 2: E6300 and E6400 - So-so performance but less expensive...

    Laptop Recommendations?

Look into the Fujitsu Lifebook S7000 series: http://www.fujitsupc.com I have used an S6010 and a S6110 as my personal computer, and they're both not bad. The main problem I've heard is that if your computer develops a hardware issue, Fujitsu support is worse than average.
