A friend of mine is setting up a company and wants me to do an excel sheet for him. I took on the responsibility but now I'm stumped.
Basically there's three people. And for each job they get a certain percentage based on who was present or not. If 1 person was present they get 60% while...
First, what's UAC? I'm unaware.
And I'm allowed access to the folders and files, it just won't allow me to modify them. In this particular case, I went to update a game, and it wouldn't grant me access to the files. I installed it on my slave drive under a folder I created, like you...
Thanks for the tip. That's what I normally do, actually. I install games on my Slave Drive. But, for this specific game, I installed it in Program Files. I'll try to re-install it on my slave drive. But, is there any way to get ownership under this user? Because it's very frustrating...
I installed Windows 7 on my main drive, and I'm having a lot of issues with ownership. I only have one User, which happens to be the administrator. It even says Administrator under my user, however, every now and then it says access denied, and I have to "Run as Administrator." I tried to change...
Okay, I apologize for the sparatic message.
Let me get basic, and don't confuse with what I'm doing with condescending...
HD1: Had XP. I wiped and installed W7.
HD2: Has W7 (I installed it to see if I liked it) and about 750+ gigs of data, and I want to get rid of W7 since it's redundant to...
Hello, guys. I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate to see if I liked it. I installed it on my 1TB slave drive, with Windows XP Pro on my much smaller main drive. I had to reformat XP Pro because I had a really bad trojan, and rather than having to deal with it, I decided to just format and...
I actually had AntiVir and went into safemode to uninstall it. It was locking up my computer. I'll try and redownload it now as well as spybot and adaware
Hey guys, I've been getting some serious popups lately. I looked in my startup and I've got a NvCpl program starting up even after I disable it. It says it's location is in the system32 folder which is what is making me nervous.
I've read the NvCpl is normally a Nvidia control panel, but...
I've created an eCommerce website for my uncles company. I have my reasons for not trusting him so I need your guys' help writing up a contract that will have him pay me for one full year. My duties will include adding the items (probably close to 15,000 items), marketing and general...
Hey, guys. My current set-up is a main PC (2.66 C2D, 2GB of DDR2, 9800 GTX OC'd to 738 MHz IIRC) and, well, I don't like keeping it on due to power reasons. I have a much older much slower PC that I use for networking / using it as a server / downloading.
Anyway, I was mulling over my options...
So, I have a torrent box built to run 24/7. Underclocked, Windows XP MCEdition, all that good stuff. It's S-Video linked to my TV with a headphone jack to RCA for the audio. AKA A basic set-up.
The computer itself is pretty old.
Asus A8N-SLI board
3200+ AMD
1.25GB of PC2100 RAM
GeForce 7900...
It may not be .5 seconds. It's just barely enough for someone to notice it, but not enough to truly disrupt watching a movie. It's just kinda frustrating watching a movie and you'll hear sound for an instant after their mouths stopped flapping.
I downloaded VLC, and I don't like the...
I have a 9800GTX running audio off my mainboard, and whenever I watch movies the audio is always off by .5 seconds. (I also have a 24" Samsung monitor. I know for some home theaters the audio gets put off a little due to the delay from the t.v..
Any idea how I can fix this if I can? Like...
Well, I tried a new HD and this time it says:
"Boot Failure
Reboot and select proper Boot device
or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device
Press any key when ready"
When you press something, it does the same thing.
Hey. So, as I'm waiting for my new PSU I decided to dig out an old computer and make it into my torrent box. Anyway, it's an old P4 1.6GHz. My friend gave it to me a while back saying he didn't need it and the only thing bad was the HD. So I swapped the HDs and installed Ubuntu. It ran fine...
Yeah, I decided to get the Corsair TX650 from buy.com.
3-4 business days (hopefully 3... but I doubt it)
Thanks a lot. Hopefully this solves my problem.
Sorry. I have an "Ultra V Series". It's not a POS one. It's really good quality (at least IMO). Running all of those things you guys told me to when they finish downloading.
But, I don't think my GPU is over-heating. The ambient temp is 50/60, and last night when it was crashing constantly...
No. It's happened in warp, and even when I was just fighting some guy. I came back and I had died... so, I'm pretty angry.
I don't know if it is enabled or not, mind helping me check?
Hey, guys. I recently bought new guts for my PC. (And by recently I mean 2-1/2 weeks ago)
Including:
E8200 (2.66GHz C2D)
eVGA GeForce 9800 GTX (Manufactured over-clock)
2GB of Patriot RAM
and a Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L which was just a board that seemed like it had everything I needed...
I'm putting together a system on newegg. And it will cost me about $15 more to go from E4500 to Phenom 9600. I have only a day or so to decide. Which should I do? I mean at first glance going quad core would be ideal, but I've heard bad things about Phenom and AM2+ in general.
Ideas?
Are there any mysql dictionary database downloads out there? Free would be preferred but I woulnd't mind paying for it if it's not too much money.
Thanks for the help
I'd actually only be watching movies on my Aquos. Plans for the Acer are just for games and regular desktop applications. (Browsing and PS7... Oh and Porn)
For anyone who read my other threads I think I'm ditching the Dell idea. But, here is how my system is looking at the moment.
Case: LIAN LI PC-61 $109.99
Proc: E4500 $114.99
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L $89.99
PSU: Corsair 450vx $69.99 (+$10.00MIR)
RAM: GeiL Value 4GB (2x2GB) $76.99...
I used to build my own and OC and everything, but at this point I'm not an enthusiast. I just want to get something running that's stable and I can send it to some asshole to fix if something goes wrong. However, I see everyones point.
It's worth noting that I forgot I have a 160GB SATA HDD...
Building myself would cost $1,228.90 whereas buying from Dell and inserting the upgraded hardware would cost me $915.99
That's a pretty big difference here. Granted I will have quality parts, but I figure if I ever need to upgrade in the future I can just get a new motherboard and case. Is the...
