No, they are overclocked to 1000mhz from the factory. They ran fine, but too hot for my system/space and too much power draw for my UPS. Figure I'd stick with single-GPU for now. No coil whine that I know of, not even sure what that is, tbh.

What would be my best PPD for $500, assuming it would probably be a wintel machine, I would procure the OS separately. Would GPU folding be the way to go,with a slower CPU and minimal memory? Ideally a small SSD would be the OS drive, but a small laptop drive would suffice in a pinch. If...
It's back to normal. I think my computer rebooted into some sort of almost-safe-mode but not-quite-safe-mode, so I couldn't tell that the optimizations had been turned off.
I restarted the service and here's what my log looks like:

CPU usage is still at 100% (all cores), so there's no issues there. I would have to look at the log to get the TPF and which types of WU's I'm running. I'll check those when I get home.
Is it just me? My PPD went from 24K to 400 for some odd reason the last couple days. I checked and my FAH service is still running on all cores. Anybody else have a similar issue?
That's my experience as well. I had my 2600K up to around 4.4 Ghz at stock voltage, but it would occassionally reboot. Didn't want to push the voltage, so pulled it down to 4.0Ghz and get about 24K PPD, enough for me to get nearly on page 3 at EOC!
Her estimated net worth is 300 Million. That's more than even "run Countrywide into the ground and pull the ripcord on my golden parachute as Bank of America hoovers up the remains" money. She's definitely not doing this for the money.
Also, I'm almost 37, have a computer science degree, and...
Of course, I still have a desktop as my primary. However, my laptop has become almost redundant to my 4.3" smartphone. I can check my email and browse the web on my smartphone, which is what I would mostly do on the laptop. I don't have a tablet because my smartphone is good enough. Still, I...
Having been able to increase my pay by a not-insubstantial $28,000 in the last year, I can safely say that being a software engineer is definitely in demand.
The crazy part? I've had multiple job offers in that range.
So..what, a whole bunch of people had to turn away from their computers and, I dunno, talk to other people face-to-face, or get out and enjoy the weather, or play with their kids? Sounds like a Geek Tragedy to me...
Take out "These days" and that's about right.
On another note, I looked at a job offer for a company and none of the benefits kicked in for at least 3 months,no vacation time allowed for six months, medical @ $400 per check (family)...in the end, it just wasn't worth it even though the salary...
You can never be overdressed at an interview. Having had the privilege of interviewing people lately, I'll say that I didn't necessarily notice those who were wearing suits, but noticed those who were rather more casually dressed - and not in a good way.
Interesting. I have my FAH on the main SSD right now and think the SSD might be having issues because the config file for my FAH lost all its settings a few days ago. That might have been a fluke, but it might not have.
I'm thinking about getting a newer, faster SSD for my main drive and...
Here's my log file. As you can see, it's been submitting work regularly. I removed all the work checkpoints for readability. Perhaps it's that work server (http://128.143.231.202:8080/)?

I haven't seen any points issued all weekend despite my box still running. I see it folding, and I've checked it using HFM, but no points have been posted at all.
Anyone?
Anyone?
Bueller?
There's no place quite like Walmart, either, but people seem to find ways to do without them. If Apple cared enough, they'd do more than send in FLA inspectors...they'd stop production - and payment - until working conditions improved or they'd move production.
If no other manufacturer agrees to do the work, they'll be forced to spin up their own factory or find another contractor. Unfortunately, there are millions (Billions) in China willing to ignore the environment and worker safety to chase these kinds of contracts, and if it's not in China, then...
They should pull their business from Foxconn. Even if it is quite difficult. They have the money and the means, it's not like this would cripple Apple and they'd go out of business.
I have no expectation that this will tun into any more than a "Yep, they're ok over here" type of deal. You really think the factories are just going to open up and let the inspectors see everything that's going on? If they really wanted a fair assessment, they'd have undercover employees who...
Isn't the concept of democracy sort of like a mob mentality? You know, that whole majority rules thing? I guess I'm old fashioned that way. The way it works these days is a few people in a room hammer out a law that makes no sense and they pass it in the middle of the night.
