I've searched around and haven't found a definitive answer. Does anyone know if a gamertag is freed up after a certain point of inactivity? It annoys me that the name I want to use is being held by someone that basically has zero stats and I guess has never even played.

There are going to be three different sets of matrices aside from the current "codename." I'm going to have users type in which set to pull data from, what tier it is, how many "moved," and finally by the days 30-240. I need some sort of formula to do this, because whatever I'm...
Basically I have a rebel xt right now with various lenses that I use for my main camera. I go to a lot of concerts though and I need some sort of backup that I can shove in a pocket and not be so concerned about breakage.
Looking for something in the ~200-300 dollar range. Would be nice to...

My friend gave me a dell inspiron to "repair," but I'm not sure what's wrong with it exactly. It simply won't turn on, no lights, no sound, nothing. I've never worked on a laptop before so I'm not sure what to try. I hate to simply say it's broke and give up because it's fairly new. Any...
My cable modem recently crapped out so I bought a d-link dcm-202. Anytime I try to download a file via dcc my connection locks up and I have to reboot the modem and sometimes the computer to get it back online. I can download fine any other way except for dcc. Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know of any good learning software for ages 5-6? I'm fixing a computer for my girlfriend's daughter and I'm trying to get some programs on it that will help her read, maybe some simple math, and things of that nature. Any help would be appreciated.
I'm giving an old computer to my girlfriend's daughter who is five. She's wanting to comp to have some simple games on it, and hopefully games that can teach at the same time. I've searched nonstop and everything seems to be too simple or too complicated. I can't find anything in between...
Has anyone had any experience with these? They are going for 85 bucks on provantage compared to the 120-150 average of every other store.

When I use the onboard lan my connection speed seems to be capped. I'm using adelphia cable and before using the lanparty I was getting ~400kb downloads. Now it's more like 100 if I'm lucky. Ping times are better by about 10 ms though.
*note I'm using the drivers that came with the mobo...
I'm looking to build my first system and I'd like some feedback. Most of all I'd like to know if I should stick with that ram, or is there something for roughly the same price that will give me better performance. Thanks in advance.

I just received the skull series case, and I've spent some time checking things out so I have no issues when I decide to install my mobo. One question though, and it's probably a dumb one, but what is the switch in the back? It's connected via a green/white wire and is labeled "int sw." I've...
