Hi, Im looking into buying a 6600Gt and so far the best lookers I can find are the Gigabtye, MSI and Galaxy Modles, now since I dont want to overclock of modify the card at all, I belive the Galaxy would be a better card as it comes preclocked with faster memory, although im not sure.

Cant help feeling its letting down my overclocked barton 2500+ which is...
This morning I cut up an old heatsink to use as a south bridge cooler, but it has some really crappy blue colouring on it (that im guessing) is Anadoiized (sorry no idea how to spell that).
After hacksawing it up ive scratched lots of it off, but it looks kinda sloppy. I want to strip it off...
2 i got given for free (mate wasnt sure if they worked or not). 2 i killed over the years by shorting them doing stupid things, and 1 i dont know where it can from.
Yeah, i caved in and dug out the old green cover, attached it and ive now drilled a fat 80mm hole in it with a dremel (although the edges are a bit sloppy) im gonna use filler to make it look smooth then spray the whole thing black.
Thanks for all your help :D.
What is the best modelling putty for use on metal/plastic cases?
Ive read some articles that point towards car bodywork sort of fibreglass fillers for the grunt shaping, but also use (is it called primer filler?) to give it a smooth finish.
Im a bit of a noob when it comes to these...

£18, thats cheap for any PSU, but a dual fan 33dba 400w psu? thats crazy!
Are these so deadly they have to be cheap or do they just look good?
Now i know Arctic Silver 5 is thee thermal paste to use, but im scared of smearing it all over the cpu and short cuircuiting it.
So i was woundering if Arctic Silver Ceramique is similar in performance or if i really should but some AS5?
I cleard the CMOS, no diffrence.
I dont have a spare CPU to test it either
I double checked everything and its slotted in aok and no unusual signs.
Looks like somates blown :(
Ok i have an MSI 6590 motherboard and an Athlon XP 1700+ on my other system, it was working fine untill i transferd it to a new case.
In this new, smaller case the heatsink fan was flat against the PSU wall, so it was sucking against a flat surface to try and push air down onto the heatsink...
My antec arrived today, so i start transfering all of my bits to this fantastic, brilliatnly made case, then put my cdrw in the top drive bay and close the door, the was to high up in the drive bay so the door on my case acted like a leave and ripped itslelf off its little plastic hinges...
I need a new case, all the old parts i removed slowly upgrading can now be put together to make a new system, but i really dont want to fork out that much for a case since its not going to be used much.
Any one have any recomendations for about the $60 price range?
Since i cant find anywhere that sell one im looking for a SLK900A,

I currently have an Aerocool Phantom CPU cooler Linky , while nice and all copper, my 2500+ system runs at Idle 52c :S. I wanted to get a ThermalRight SP-97 but i noticed it would require a lot of faffing to fit it into my case since it dosnt use socket A clips.
What i want is a good copper...
Im really interested in the basics of electronics, voltages, ampage etc, but I have no real under standing in what they mean and how they relate to circuitry. Im sure some one out their can recommend me a book that teaches the basics of electronics / circuitry in an easy to under stand manner...
Ive always wanted / needed a dremel esque tool so that i can start modding, the only thing that has put me off is the price. Today i stumbled upon a cheaper product:

But i was woundering if 18v...
Ive recently installed Windows XP on a second machine, but when i came to use windows update, in the windows update pane was "Undefined" written in the usual text.
Ive searched the microsoft knowledge base but came up fruitless, ive tried adding SP1 but that dindt do any good so im at a loss...
Does any one know the measurements for the clips on the stock fan for the Sapphire Radeon 9600pro? Ive got hold of an old aluminium heatsink that i want to drill holes in and bolt onto the card but i wanted to know if I could save time by already having the measurements without having to take...
My stock cooled Sapphire Radeon 9600pro "Fireblade Edition" can only reach 465mhz Core and 350mhz Memory.
Was going to take a trip down to maplin and see what they have by the way of GPU coolers.
