The last time I tried to RMA a system, I discovered that their parts, warranty support, and technical support departments all don't talk to each other. And that every time you call in, you're given a new case number despite already having one because they go incident by incident instead of the...
I've been a system builder for a long time now and a few things have always puzzled me.
Why are the GPU's on the bottom of the card?
Why is there no heatsink on the back(top) of the video card?
And why isn't the GPU in a zif socket like the cpu is?
Wouldn't this make upgrading a...
Imho, I don't blame him! We have 3 DTV converters here and one of them is built-in on a brand shpankity new 32" lcd tv. And all 3 converters get a different channel grouping no matter how many times we scan for channels, even though the broadcast antennas are only 5 miles away. One of the things...
Looking at the image, I'm reminded of the neural structure of some of the larger dinosaurs like the Brontosaur which, not only had a brain like every other creature(the cluster to the left side in the image), but also a sub-brain down near the hips(the cluster on the right side in the image)...
I can seriously see this bag, and others like it, being used to train our atheletes. Different lights for different punches along with impact sensors to trigger the differnt lights would offer quick visual cues as to whether or not a punch was delivered properly and can aid the coach in teaching...
Why should you go with AMD? *cough 586 cough*
Yeah you heard me. The venerable AMD K5-133, which I had running at 160mhz at the time. I moved the bus from 33 to 40.
Why AMD?
Because back in the day AMD was the sole cpu supplier to intel. AMD has the history and linneage for making very...
That's IF, IF, IF they can fit that many mp3's onto an player. Unlike a lot of music out there, all of my music is "volume normalized" and converted to a steady bit rate of 128bitx44hz. Which at least gives me a bit of uniformity.
An update:
I JUST got off the phone with my BB and was told to just take my items to the cashier (customer service area) and I would sign something (she couldn't elaborate) and that would be it. And not to take the stuff to GeekSquad.
I have tried twice so far to confirm this with the Stockton, CA store so that we can use it. Both times resulted in me being put on hold twice for longer than 5 minutes.
Sorry, but either they know the info or don't. It sounded like both girls were talking to someone else about it before I...
I've run into that as well. Hi "john" lol!
One nightmare that I discovered this past winter is that Dell's Technical Support, Parts & Customer Service departments don't talk to each other.
They don't share one common customer service database, instead each dept has its own.
If you have...
Does anyone have a socket PGA370 cpu sitting around that I can borow? (something slower than 600 or so.
I got an intel mATX CA810e mobo(never used, that my boss threw out), and I want to upgrade the bios on it so it can take a 1ghz cpu.
The board only has 4 pci slots and I wanna see just...
Here's a thought.
Why doesn't Michael Dell chip in the 3Bill and take a pay cut.
The guy can afford it.
He'll save all those peoples jobs and look like a hero.
Because right now he looks like an ass!
Why??? It's simple. Because you guys totally rock! Is any other reason needed???? I think not!!!
Plus the fact that I was reading you guys 2 & a half years before I became a forum member all those years ago. In fact, you guys converted me from Tom's Hardware. I have seen the light...
Well... if it's a plastic bag it'll pop like the other guy said. And if it's a metal sleeved bag, it'll short out your entire mobo.
Umm... no thanks!
I'd rather just run hose all over the outside of backplane instead.
I went to monoprice like you said, and there's a pic of the 6 different DVI port types in the DVI cable area.
I'll have to go home after work and see what type the DVI adapters I have are.
I always thought there was just the one.
Thanks!!!
Hiya!
Recently I upgraded to an LCD monitor(Samsung SyncMaster 906BW) and I noticed that it has a DVI and a VGA port.
My video card also has VGA and DVI ports as well.
But neither came with a DVI cable.
I do however have 2 DVI/VGA adapters from my current and a previous video card...
How come when I unplug my nic cable, turn on my system, login, do some work, then go back, plug my cable back in, everything in my URL window pulldown has disappeared???
Shouldn't everything still be there regaurdless of what I do???
Actually this will be the backup solution.
The current aging system is a bunch of rapidly filling 74Gig scsi drives.
I'm thinking of getting a SATA-2 card and getting 5-750Gig drives and building a raid with them to use as the backup location for when we replace the aging scsi system.
Hiya
I have an idea and I was wondering if it would fly.
We have a client that needs some serious data storage and I was thinking of using 3-750Gig SATA drives in a RAID and I was wondering:
1. Is it possible to raid SATA drives the way SCSI drives are raides.
and
2. If I get an 8...
Recently one of the systems at work started randomly popping up a generic error 92 message. The message would be closed and it would go away. Only to randomly pop up later. After system diagnostics no errors or malfunctions were detected and no info on an "error92" was found on the web.
Does...
Delemorte: I'd love to. But at this stage, that's not an option as I don't have the time.
Jay_Oasis: I'm already running AdAware and Spybot S&D.
Renixing: Yup. That was what the instructions said. I free'd up 10Gig when I did that.
Ye oldstonecat: SmitRem tool??? Thanks. I'll goog it...
Hi all.
So I got hit with Smitfraud and I got the remover(v1.71). I followed the instructions 3 times. And now I get a new page every other time, instead of every time. Does anyone know of a sure fire way to get this thing offa my system? Thank you!
My boss fubar'd his Outlook Xp and uninstalled it, then reinstalled it.
Is there a way to recover the .pst and .wab files to rebuild his Outlook?
Thank You.
