Easier to validate as being unchanged. Most people won't remember the fingerprint given by a cert so would not notice if it was replaced.
On the wire? same security is provided by both methods, one is just backed by a system of a trust.
That's what ACME protocol does; provided naively by pfsense package.
Nothing against cloudflare, Use it extensively but this seems like a strange use case to me.
And excluding use of argo tunnels, of course your box has internet exposure. That's how cloudflare proxies/caches it.
Correct, but a multilayer switch with L3 features that has no knowledge of the routing required between the vlans can not do so.
Certain technology (intervlan routing) permits the "routing" between vlans on a switch by leaking the routing table via discovery.
For home usage the I211-AT chipset would have no performance implications (950+mbit port to port has been tested).
However as you increase the forwarding/addresses table size the lookup do not scale due to the interrupt heavy chipset (Very little offload is available, checksuming mostly).
The...
Reading the article you see they claim they use a "AI" powered resource scheduler and the "special case" of benchmarking provided full access to the resources.
This is rather sad attempt to gain one over on competitors as users won't see this same performance in every day cases; Shame as the...
Ah I was able to find "DIY/Hackable - Embedded Devices" forum hidden under "All non-AMD/Intel CPUs"
how about a new general DIY forum with subforums such as "Embedded Development", "Show off your projects"?
Have seen that's a fairly popular choice for the box.
Talking to owner in hopes of replacing the i211AT ethernet with something a bit more powerful along with more standardized headers.
It's fantastic little box, We use it extensively for the easy to add LTE modems providing lights-out...
Hello,
I have not yet seen APU being mentioned on the forums and figured I'd share a link to a product I've found incredibly useful.
http://www.pcengines.ch/apu3c2.htm
It has found uses in our environment as a network control plane for ASICs/FPGA's
Can be had in the ~100 USD range.
Let me...
Is the parser something you have written? If so you could easily parse the .pcap binary format with a library like libpcap.
This would allow you to extract the exact information without screen-scraping the possible invalid results.
Switches by design can not forward between vlans, that is the job of the router (l3 SVI instance).
pfsense will allow you to setup different vlan-access mapping. Default I believe is to allow all communication.
I don't understand where cloudflare is involved? Are you using cloudflare to proxy the entire pfsense interface? If so that sounds serious overkill.
You can run letsencrypt on pfsense via the Acme package built into pfsense. No requirement for cloudflare and limits exposure.
I do like it, you will have to get used to the concept of 'snaps' (https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/basic-snap-usage#0) but they lend themselfs very well to small devices/IoT.
Give me a PM if you run into any troubles.
Hello,
I'm interested in PCB design and production but [H] does not seem to have a sub forum that covers the 'maker' culture?
I'd like to see a "Maker" forum where we can post our current projects.
Thanks

Had a similar issue that turned out to be grounding issue on the outlet I used to drive the PC.
Double check the outlet is providing clean enough power. Ideally have TV + NUC into the same circuit to eliminate any ground differential.
Does anyone have recommendations for a machine shop able to build custom 1U enclosures?
DXF files would be provided by us.
Companies such as
https://frontpanelexpress.com would fit the current needs.
Hello,
Don't see a forum that would match so 3d printing it is.
What kind of CNC does everyone use? I'm looking for engraving, light PCB work & thin aluminium
Shapeoko, X-Carve, 6040 are the most common that I see.
