Hi,
My headphone's plug broke off and got stuck in the front headphone port. Can I stick my other pair's plug into the microphone port and switch it so I can hear through that port?
Does that make sense?
Thanks
Will the HD555 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16826106392) fit in the green spot of my computer (I know that sounds newbish, I can't help it) -- how about fitting in my iPod?
Edit: Another thing I noticed -- it doesn't have a volume control.
It would be nice if they...
Yea, but which one do I get? There are a few models.
Excuse my ignorance.
Is this the BEST one:

...or aside from that, what other non-usb headset should I be looking at for less than $150?
should I get the Sennheiser HD555 + a...
I can't be bothered installing a sound card (or dealing with any hardware, to be honest) -- my computer is basically in pieces as it is, seriously.
I plan to get rid of it and get a laptop before I head off to school, so I'd rather have something that's not dependent on a sound card.
So what would be better:
Icemat Siberia USB Soundcard

with a Steelsound 5hv2 (not USB)

Or:

I'm looking for a USB headset (I recently broke my Logitech).
I'll spend up to $200 on it. (really hoping to spend about $100, but hey, if it's extra special...maybe)
The only thing I could find that's USB w/ a mic (headset) is:

I couldn't find anything that...
Hi,
This may seem like a stupid question to most of you but: Can a lot of computer usage lead to bad vision? If I use my computer for 8-10 hours a day, for years, could that be bad for my eyes?
A lot of times my eyes burn after a lot of computer usage.
I don't know what they're called...
Hi,
Somehow between testing out the IE 7 beta and messing with IE 6, I broke IE completely.
As far as I know, IE is not at all installed. I removed all files, registry additions, etc that has anything to do with IE.
When I go to install IE6 via the the file I downloaded off of...
So the PSU is bad? Should I call up Antec...or just buy a new one. Is that definitely the problem? Also, sorry for being such a newb but how does one update the bios? Is it a complicated process..Thank you
If this means anything...
I'll have to try that prime program, to see if it drops.. But even it does, what's that tell me? Why can't any of this stuff work straight out the factory...bah
Did that all months ago when I was dealing w/ random restarts b/c of the RAM. I guess I'll do that again.. What is prime95? I used memtest to tell me that one stick of RAM was bad.
I forgot to mention I also replaced the power supply, twice...
I had a 450W PSU that I thought was faulty so I sent it back and got a new one.. I then got that one and still had restarts so I sent it back, got my money back, and got an Antec 350W ( The other PSU was a bad brand )...But...
I'm so sick and tired of this crap. I've been dealing with computer problems for so long, that I'm about to just chuck the computer out the window.
I have an:
AMD 64 3500+
Asus A8V Deluxe
2x 80GB Western Digital 80GB / 8MB HDDs
Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB 256BIT
Now WTF? I had random...
The CD Drive that was just delivered was delivered by fedex 2nd day priority shipping since newegg paid for it. I don't know if there is any better of a way to ship it...
I ordered a standard $40 or so DVD drive from Newegg and when I received it, it was smashed up so I sent it back and got a new one. The one they sent me wouldn't open the CD drive properly so I sent it back again and just received a nice sony DVD drive WHICH WOULDN'T OPEN!
I'm going to...
Yeah, I figured I'd take the safe way out. I was reading up and a lot of SATA HDDs require extra configuration, etc. It's not my computer to fool around with. Either way, this thing is going to be a beast.
Yeah, I decided to go with an IDE HDD partually b/c I don't know how to setup an SATA HDD and also it's cheaper.

Please critique. I wanna make sure everything is there.
Notice I changed the motherboard b/c the Asus one comes with a faulty chipset fan.
Thanks a lot! lithium AIMed me right before my friend bought the system. THANK YOU lithium!
Phew..
So now I'll re-work that list and I'll post it again a little later for some final thoughts.
Here it is: He'll be ordering it tonight...

There is NOTHING missing right? All the wires are there.. I'll be bringing a few wires just incase but I don't want him to have to...
Thanks for the help.
As far as the RAM, the XMS has lower timings than the Value RAM don't they? He is a big gamer therefore he needs the extra performance.
He already has Windows XP Pro SP2 through his school.
I'll up him to the MX518.
Any ideas as far as 17" LCD Refurbished...
Ok. I'm going to re-work the build.
The problem is, he loves those kinds of cases. I suggested a simple sleek case: coolermaster, etc. Oh well...
I'm not too educated when it comes to PCI-E so can someone suggest a decent motherboard/videocard for PCI-E. He doesn't need to overclock...
Yeah.. I am really hoping it never breaks down. I spend enough time fixing my own computers.
As far as the lack of PCI-E, he really has no need for it. I understand it's keeping up with technology but he won't have to upgrade for a long long time.
Also, I have never built a PCI-E...
Could you guys PLEASE help me? I want to make sure everything is perfect. This is what I put together for him. Note: I bought an extra PSU ( The crap case he picked out comes with a crap PSU, I don't want it to fry )...
