fans arent the problem. Its something else. most computers should be able to get those temps with one 80mm exhaust fan. Airflow isnt your problem here. Something else is wrong
Does anyone know if a CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) from a monitor eventually discharges itselff thus becoming not dangerous anymore?
basically im trying to take apart an OLD Macintosh SE/30 and i need to remove the CRT but i dont want to kill myself on the 1,500V that it carries.
i bought the card brand new for 199.99 and it came with a hl2 voucher. Basically, my roomate needed a new vid card, and i saw a 9800 Pros goin for 250 bucks. I went and bought a Pro for 250 kept my hl2 voucher from the previous card and thought of it as upgrading to a pro for zero dollars since...
sold my 9800 Non Pro to my roomate for 190 bucks about 2 months ago. Tonight we found out that his core goes up to 430 on stock cooling. I might add that his case is in a little cubby hole and he has virtually NO AIR FLOW THROUGH HIS CASE. God damn, wish i wouldn't have let that card go.

after you set an overclock get a program called
Prime95 and run the torture test
Open Prime95--->options---->torture test--->inPlace Large FFT's
it will go for an infinite amount of time without crashing if your OVerclock is okay. But as soon as it detects an error will shut off and you...
yes, i had used to have on on my amd and it was awesome. With two thermaltake smartfans i was idling and loading UNDER 30 C. The clip mechanism takes some jimmy rigging though or else the damn thin pulls itself off the die and your system shuts down.
i made a thread called the "Aerocool...
12 fps in BF1942?? were you playing those POS 64 person servers? Cause let me just say that Battlefields netcode mustve been written by monkeys cause i get shit for FPS in that game most of the time.
I dont think your FPS problems are stemming from graphics cards to tell you the truth...
it was EXTREMELY easy to install. I have on on my 9800 Pro.
on my card the shim around the GPU was getting in the way so i pryed it off with a razor blade.
if you want easy and no hassle installation buy a kit.
Koolance Exos
Corsiar hydrocool
Thermaltake aquarius
ive got the Koolance Exos on my amd2500 OCd to 2.2 ghz and its idling on low fan speed (not even audible) at 32 C.
and you cant tell me this exos doesnt look slick.
my system:
how come no one likes the Aerocool DP102. before i had my watercooling i had nothing but flabbergasting results with it. that thing was honestly cooling my processor to absurdly low temps.
install it correctly, throw two decent fans on it, and it does an AMAZING JOB.
"w1zzards tool" is what a lot of people use. Its easy to use, free, and good from what ive experienced. There is a thread around here where it tells where to get it, but i dont recall where it is.
I think the thread was called called "W1zzards Tool" and I am the thread starter.
I wouldnt go as far as saying gaming sucks on an LCD, but i myself would never buy an LCD for gaming. I prefer a decent CRT over even the best LCD's.
BUT....that doesnt mean i wouldnt kill for a Grandcanyon Display from the L Store.
oh and BTW that keyboard and wireless mouse has been replaced by a MX700 duo wireless set. I spilt water on the old one and fubared the keyboard, so i decided to upgrade both.
aerocool dp102. I know everyone dogs on this heatsink, but i got it to perform better then watercooling at the expense of noisy loud big fans.
im on an exos system now though
yes it is. My dp102 did it finely. You gotta get it nice and cold and it will hold the coolness for the rest of the day. Im on watercooling now though and my temps are hotter though. but cooling is un-audible now.
i have the external model and i love it. That case looks like a heavy pile of crap that i didnt want. As far as cooling goes, i dont think its negligable what kind of difference you'll see from the external one
i cant believe your temps at 2V. Ive never heard of anyone staying that low at 2 V. BTW, your room is 9 degrees cooler then mine too, so thats a difference as well.
well i installed mine and have been playing around with it to see what i can get.
Background:
barton 2500 @ 1.725 V @ 2.205 ghz
Before i had my EXOS -AL i had the aerocool dp102 with two thermaltake smartfans on it. It was loud as heck (48 db per smartfan) but it kept it much cool at 33...
I just got my exos today and im leak testing it as we speak. When i actually hook it up to my cpu, what should i do in terms of draining the thing so i can re cut the tubing. Anyone have experience with draining it?
orr.....you can hook up clapper to your PC's power cable and then get a HUGE fish tank (one that can hold a full grown dolphin) train the dolphin to clap when he/she hears the sound of the alarm.
voila!
on another note, why not just get a program such as Motheroard Monitor5 and have it...
i wouldnt bother. It took me about half an hour to get Dawn running and when i finally got it running it wasnt NEARLY as impressive as even the 9700 ATI demos.
BUT...for you geeks, rename the fairy.exe to quake3.exe and dawn dances around nekked in all her glory ;) ....if your l33t enough to...
