Fact: Virtual Boy causes permanent blindness in 101% of users.
While I found it annoying to use and it hurt my eyes after an hour or so, I never got a headache from the console.
But I still hated it because I'm used to playing games for hours on end (especially as a kid), not be forced to...
Pyscho, could you PM me a link to that thread? I would like to take a look at it because I've been wondering how Falcons have been holding up thus far. I can't seem to find much information, anecdotal or otherwise, anywhere.
No, my point was that there's a good chance that in 3-6 months, both of those communities will have dried up a great deal.
The smaller the player pool, the harder it will be to find a good game as the title ages.
BTW, I also like TF2 better than Halo 3. TF2 cracks me up.
I once had the privilege of watching Defective play Bully for two hours... And saw him accomplish absolutely nothing. Seriously, the guy dicks around in sandbox games more than anyone I have ever seen (and I'm pretty bad, too).
In two hours, I think he knocked out about 20 prefects, pulled 30...
In the used section, you can pick up Oblivion, Dead Rising (get.this.game.), Condemned, Viva Pinata, and Crackdown. That will keep you busy for quite some time.
If you want to step up to the $50+ games, I recommend Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, BioShock, Halo 3, and Gears of...
Pick up Crackdown and Condemned on the cheap. They're both worth it. Neither one is great but both are solid and can be picked up for less than $20 used.
It's still unknown if it will run in true 1080p or not. Prologue doesn't. It's 1280x1080.
They also just announced that it will have weather effects, night/day races, and damage. With those announcements, I'll be shocked if it releases before 2009. It might get a holiday 2008 for Japan but...
Actually, it might not be. NPD breaks up the SKUs between bundled and non-bundled GH games. Without the information on the non-bundled 360 version, it's hard to say whether the Wii version outsold the 360 or not.
I think the big reason the 360 headset is more frequently used (other than the reasons stated by Defective) is because it's bundled with the console.
A lot of people simply never bother to buy a BT headset and sync it to their PS3. If Sony included one wih the console, thins might be different.
He's not lazy; he's intelligent. Valve is primarily a PC company. He thinks that the PS3 architecture will be gone next generation and that means he will have essentially spent a boatload of money to train Valve personnel on PS3 architecture for one game, maybe two.
It makes sense. We have no...
Hah, I beat this at level 15 or some stupid shit like that. It was a real bitch. I found that charging the two commandos in front, killing them immediately (throw them off the ledge and shoot), then running back toward the door, running to the right, and putting the rachni tank in between...

There you go. Found by the same guy who broke the Halo resolution.
1280x1080 FTW. BTW, GT HD Concept wasn't full HD, either.
Upscaled 1080p. It's not actually a 720p resolution but it's not "full HD". I believe the vertical is a lower res than 1080 IIRC.
Yet again another triumphant "1080p 60fps" that Sony promised us all. I just don't think this gen's hardware is capable enough to do it well.
I can't watch the video right now but aren't they talking about inviting to a game from Home when another player is also in Home?
Or is it cross-game? Sony will need some kind of XMB in-game access for that to happen and they keep postponing it.
If you're planning to play the PS3 on that HDTV you talked about, DO NOT buy the 40GB model. Once you play PS2 games upscaled on an HDTV, your eyes will scream every time you try to play them at an SD resolution.
I don't care if it is more immersive that the name Shepard is forced onto the player. Last night when I had a few drinks in me, Tits McGee sounded like a brilliant idea.
A few complaints about the game:
1. You can't choose your last name, meaning I couldn't play a lesbian named "Tits McGee". Instead, I had to make the ugliest man to ever walk the Earth. It's a bit of a consolation but Tits McGee would have been better.
2. The combat is far too twitchy for...
I purchased a refurb about 6 years ago and it was just like new. Most decent refurb sites sell TVs that are certified by the manufacturer and reboxed in the factory. It's definitely worth a look IMO.
Make sure you do some research on the Samsung DLPs... if you think you might be watching HD-DVD or Blu-ray on it, some of the models don't deinterlace properly. I can't remember which models do and which don't but a few minutes on Google should pull up a listing of models.
I know that there is a risk that the bulb will go but hopefully it will be within the first 12 months of use so it won't cost me a dime. They also gave me $110 off for the floor model so that offsets a big chunk of the cost should it go.
It's a 720p TV but unlike several other DLPs, the...
That looks like a decent deal but I think you could probably find better if you search around for a bit... and there should be some amazing deals over the next two weeks.
That TV is going to run you $410 for 27 inches (plus tax if applicable)... Last night I rolled into CC just browsing and...
3 has better songs, a wireless controller, and more varied single-player campaigns. It also has online.
With that said, you'll want them both. If you have any friends at all, you'll want a second guitar.
This is funny but it's a one-week thing. This week, the 360 got a price drop, Ace Combat, and a few Platinum Hits games. Meanwhile, the PS3 received another reacharound by Sony execs (aka. nothing).
Next week Sony gets their 40GB model into Japan so we can expect a sales spike for that...
I love how you state everything as if it's indisputable.
While I have yet to play CoD4 (I will later this week), I have a hard time believing it has a more interesting story than BioShock or more interesting gameplay than Portal and The Orange Box. I also bet it doesn't offer the plethora of...
