The 4800+ kills the 840 in dual and single thread benchs and in games.
Just picked one up and it does have ram sinks and it dropped my hot 6800gt from stock 94 load to 70 load. Pretty damn good cooler and thats without using as5.
2t 1t doesnt make any difference really. People will say it does but i went from 2x512 1t to 4x512 2t and it was def worth it my computer runs great. Plus i can still OC the ram to aroun 250(at 225 now cuz i dont want to run more volts through them) unlike 1gig chips.
Might as well save more and get a 3000+ they OC the same as the 3200+. Or grab a 3700+ San Diego for about $300 i believe. Get the 7800gtx just one nad if you find you a second one get it later. Grab some good ram that can do 250mhz at 2-2-2-5.
X2 for the fact that it will last you longer.
If you already have a fx dont buy a new proccy wait till the x2s come down in price ~chirstmas and new multi thread programs come out to get one.
The amds are gonna be more fun to OC and gonna give you better gaming performance than intels. GO buy a DFI 939 ultra board for $130 from newegg and grab a 3000+ venice core from the link below. Stick with the ram you got, sell your vid card and buy a pci-e one. You well be happy...
I've seen it cheaper let me go look for it.
