I try to boot ANY nvidia drivers for my 6800gt (and my MX 440 card that I know works). I boot comp. I get past Windows XP logo screen. Then the screen goes black. I can hear the Windows booting music, so I know the comp is working! It's such a tease. I can access the comp through safe mode...

Did you connect a molex power cord directly to the video card from your power supply? It's required.

Thanks for reply. 58 is the idle temp. 62 is the load temp (sometimes hits 66C). The case temp is 37C though!!! I'm using an aeroflow heatsink ($25 with the packaged thermal paste). Do you think Arctic Silver 5 would do the trick?

I've heard about how the Radeon 9800xt has 8 pipes and X800pro has 12 pipes and X800xt has 16 pipes. These "pipes" apparently dramatically increase performance. But what exactly are they, and what do they do?

Are you running at highest settings? I have the same setup, but I seem to be getting only 25-35 fps.
