the drive is about one year old and it was not used heavily, I have purchased TDK cd/dvd cleaner but could not solve the problem. I can not access the laster head unless I take the drive out and open the cover, is there any recommended cd cleaner?

i found out today that my 4 usb ports are not detecting any hardware. I dont know when that hapened, restart computer didnt solve the problem, so i had to uninstall the usb from device manager and restart so it detected the usb and then i could use my devices. i am using xpsp2

check your cpu temp in your bios also install mbm5 to check your power readings and post your readings, then move to the next step and install memtest and run it. this is the basic start for system troublshooting.

agree, get raptor wd74g, not the wd36g and keep the other drive you currently own for your bad habbits ;) if you ordered the raptor now it will arrive with the cpu at the same time or maybe before the cpu.

how did you kill the cpu? and what did you tell them when they asked you what happened? maybe they refused to rma it because you told them you were trying to overclock it and changed the fun, therefore they considered the warrantee is void since you tried to overclock it
