SLI under Vulkan is so very nearly fixed. The only issues that remain are:
TAA must be enabled or the lighting is way too bright (basically you get a white screen)
There's still some flickering in places but it seems to vary - most of the time it's non-existent
Aforementioned flickering is...
Errr...I just updated my nvidia drivers to 441.20 (machine in sig) and now my 2nd card is being used. However, there appears to be a negative impact on framerate and I HAVE to enable TAA otherwise the lighting is too dark at night or too bright in the day. Have not touched the profile for the...
I just updated to 1001 on my C8H, fuck all difference as far as I can tell, if anything, boost behaviour is a little worse. Also, something that's been bugging me since I built this machine. In Ryzen Master, C06 on CCX 1 is tagged yellow (gold if you will). My understanding is this is supposed...
Right, my system is built, C8H, 3700x etc. (as above). Time Spy has gone from 12.5k to 17.5k. Cinebench R20 coming out at 4636 after 10 passes.
Question about clocks and temps. I'm currently running prime95, it's been going for maybe 10 mins. According to Ryzen Master, my clocks are 3.75GHz...
Parts incoming!
Asus Crosshair VIII Hero
3700x
32GB Team Group / 8Pack 3600Mhz CL16
Corsair MP600 1TB
Dark Rock Pro 4
This will replace the 4770k in my sig. 1080Ti SLI will transfer over. Hopefully, this will also last as long as the 4770k did!
Look at the scoring in the PCB coating around the mounting holes. I would say you've got a very heavy screwdriver hand and are overtightening stuff by miles.
Are we saying 3200 CL14 is better than 3600 CL16?
From what I've seen there doesn't seem to be much in it (real world) but 3600 seemed to have the (very slight) edge.
Indeed, I could but I've always gone for "decent" motherboards and I want lots of onboard USB so I don't have to mess about with hubs / cards. Plus the CH8 easily has the best aesthetics.
The overall cost isn't the issue, but I do like getting value. That, and I want something solid that is...
I'm actually thinking about doing the same, 3600 + CH8. From what I can see, there's nothing in it when it comes to gaming performance between the 3600, 3600x, 3700x and the 3900x.
I don't do any production workloads. So it feels like the 3600 (non x) makes most sense.
I think the real winner here will be the 1900X.
Much lower price-point, fewer but still enough C/Ts and, most importantly...ALL the other functionality remains (e.g. Quad Channel, 64-lanes). And a higher base clock (and possibly boost) to boot.
Yup, I found a DP to HDMI adapter I had knocking around (forgot I had it to be honest). TV seems to work fine through it, I'm getting 4k @ 60Hz w. 4:4:4 Chroma.
That frees up the native HDMI port for Rift if I decide to go down that road. However, currently looks like the bundles are out of...
Hi All,
The sale on Rift has got me thinking about snagging one but I have a few questions.
1. Each card only has 1 x HDMI output but am I right in saying that only the primary card's outputs will work?
2. My main monitor is a 4k TV which only has HDMI inputs.
3. How do I go about connecting...
The Linus video was interesting, I watched it last night and it really highlights some big holes in the Intel plan. I wonder how it's all going to play out post release and once we start to see some real world comparisons with Threadripper stuff.
Pretty sure this works with my 1080Ti using HDMI straight from the card to the TV. I've also done it with a 780Ti using a DP to HDMI 2.0 adapter.
I will double check when I get home in a couple of days and report back.

Generally 8.
That's why the min requirement for SLI is 8x/8x. From everything I have read, the difference between running 8x and 16x is barely a couple of percent.
I find it hilarious that people are decrying the unrealistic nature of the game. It's a fucking game. Get over it you 'tards.
No one is asking you "believe" anything. It's. A. Game. Work of fiction.
Yeah so I think Maxwell and KBoost 2.0 worked a little differently to how it works on Pascal. The behaviour you're seeing with your Ti is exactly what I would expect.
Leave the temp limit at 90*C and play with the fan curve to see what you can get out of it without blowing eardrums.
Does...
Check again.
I have set temp limit to 90 in Afterburner but the card (FE) will downclock much earlier than that. It is layered exactly as described above.
I assume your card idles at around 30*C? Fire up a benchmark or game or whatever and watch the clocks. I'd be willing to bet that the card...
I'm thinking about water-cooling my GPUs at the moment but...
1. Not sure if it's worth it at all (an extra 100MHz on 1900MHz).
2. Custom loop - the blocks are pretty expensive (c.£100) and would have to be replaced every upgrade cycle completely. Is it worth the outlay? I tend to upgrade GPUs...
Maximus VI Formula - You're right I could use on-board.
Still, for my next upgrade I'd like to be able to run 16/16 for SLI and still have spare for M.2 (4), maybe even RAID M.2 (so 8).
But I think it;s already been noted above that 16/16 for SLI won't make any real difference.
I'm no fanboy one way or the other and I would welcome some true competition in the market. I just buy whatever is fastest at the time.
However, the amount of faith people have in this company is astounding. I fully expect Vega to disappoint but would be pleasantly surprised if it delivers.
