i have a laptop that has no dvd drive (long story) and i want to install a copy of media center i have on it. now i have a external usb hd. if i copy the cd's i386 directory to the external hd and run it from start up will i be able to install windows via the external hd?

k i've got a question for ya. if i got two 7,200 drives, say two western digital caviar se wd1200js 120gb sata drives and run them in raid 0 would i see much of a performance increase than if i were to run just one 10,000 wd raptor?
