I'm confused. I get that there are two panels. One is IPS. Is the other TN or VA? TN panels are 6 bit and look much worse than IPS, in my opinion. But VA panels are still 8 bit and the difference between IPS and VA is much less noticeable, again in my opinion.

Free speech brought to you by the US Army
internet brought to you by DARPA
inexpensive computer chips brought to you by the US ballistic missile program
That's not true. Are you a california resident? I am. And I can tell you, there's a place on the california tax form that asks you to pay sales tax on any out of state purchases.

I prefer the universal models. I haven't found RAM cooling to be critical. If you do get a universal cooler, be sure to have some airflow across the card to keep the VRMs cool.
The 5850 may not ship with the reference cooler shown in the picture. Mine (bought a few months back) did not have the reference cooler. Just a warning for those looking for the higher overclocking reference models.
Having owned two of the PVA 24" Soyo Topaz monitors, as well as two HP2465s, I think the HP is a better monitor. I'm not sure there is much difference in panel quality, but the bezel is much nicer looking on the HP. The HP's stand is also more adjustable.
This is a SPVA monitor for a TN price...
With the newer drivers and price drops, I think the 470 is the price/performance leader. The serious 470 price drops started a month after I got my 5850. Oh well, story of my life.
Tigerdirect estimated a July 30th delivery for me, so I guess they arn't in stock. Definitely not clearest website for showing if they have something in stock.
Did you even read the replies you're disparaging? I said it played flawlessly in the beta for me at 1920x1200. Also, the OP has a target res of 1680x1050. What does that have to do with 2560x1600?
I agree with the previous posters. I have a 8800 GT and I could play the beta at max settings at 1920x1200. It's very easy on hardware. I've even played it on intel integrated graphics (not max settings of course.)
Vista had a built in email client. Win 7 does not. I guess microsoft is trying to get people to buy some version of office to get outlook. For my father's machine (he likes an outlook style client but didn't want to pay) I installed an open source email program.
Just got the 2.1 update on my droid. I love this phone. Its not really much of a phone for me because I don't do much talking. More like an ultra portable computer.
The only thing I worry about is the hardware becoming outdated. A 2 year contract is a long time considering how fast the mobile...
After a bit of research, it looks like the processors in the droid and N1 are based off the same architecture, the ARM cortex-A8. That does not mean ipc is directly comparable.
Some good info on the phone processors here on the mobile forums.
If both the processors are the same architecture on the same manufacturing process, no. Maybe the nexus processor is just a higher bin. Kind of like how all desktop cpus of a given line have around the same max overclock, despite their stock frequencies. That's assuming the processors in the...
Text messaging charges are outrageous, considering what they cost carriers. As long as people are willing to pay, the carriers will continue to gouge us. But that's a topic for another thread. :)
The droid will even notify you when you get a text via gmail if you're not in the gmail chat app or using the phone. There are some other texting apps but I haven't tried them.
The cost will be $30 on top of your normal plan. You can use gmail for texting. Works pretty well. I'm posting this from the droid I got from this deal. The phone is awesome. More like a small pc than a phone. Best purchse ever for me off of the hotdeals forum.
That's right. Anyone here a climate scientist? Asking a bunch of tech people about the climate is like asking for advice on a new GPU on a climate scientist board.
By the way, "framing the debate" means:
The presentation of political ideas and principles so as to encourage one...
The performance specs don't make sense. It says a 448 or 480 core part will only perform at 5850 speeds (gtx 285 territory), while the 512 core part will be twice as fast a gtx 285? Why would such a small decrease in shader units decrease performance so drastically?
I priced one out for me and wife.
$70 for the family plan
$50 to add an additional phone
$30x2 for the data plans
$180 a month? Are they serious? It would be cheaper to do two individual plans than a family plan. Even then it would be $140 a month.
Anyone see a way to do a cheaper...
I have two for work. They have great color and the adjustable stands are nice. You can't do better for the price imo. Shipping is a bit of a lottery though.
I think the best bet for a cheap high quality monitor is to watch the used and refurb market and pick up a cheap 8 bit panel. I just got two nice 24" HPs for $500 shipped. They are refurbs but they work perfectly. And the picture is much better than the VW266H I bought for my father-in-law.
