USPS is honestly the cheapest way.
Would it be possible as an option for us overseas buyers for us to purchase HD-Plex 250W power supplies through you? As in you order them, have them shipped to you, then deliver in the same package with the case?
Also is there a proper mount for the...
Just so we know what we can place on top of the case, what is the weight that can be supported by the top of the case?
I'm asking for those with larger monitors.
I currently have a 23" 16:9 1080p monitor.
Would like to upgrade to a new monitor for productivity purposes (side by side windows reading PDFs on one side, word doc other etc...)
Which would suit my purposes better a 27" 1440p screen or a 29" 21:9 screen? They are approx the same price...
My deathadder is getting quite old now, and I'm having issues tracking on some surfaces. It's been a great mouse, I've owned it since 2007-2008ish, and it's still on the original teflon feet!
I love the sensor, the way it tracks, and the overall feel of the mouse and how it fits in my hand. The...
I was there 100%, but not at the 19L sketch...I think I was around the 12L sketch?I 've perhaps forgot lots of details (it was almost 2 years ago!) but personally I felt, by the end...for my needs the case was too compromised (could have been smaller, I was looking at the time for a vertical...
Dondan:
Personally I would shorten the case as much as possible and just rely on people using the HD-Plex 250W...you can still get some very powerful GPUs in a 17cm length (670, 760, and R9 285) and that would fit easily under the HD-Plex's power requirements. It would be even smaller!
Okay, I really like this, please don't make it bigger and compromise the smallness factor for those of us who don't need water cooling and loads of drives. The M1 appealed to me at the start, but then it just got too big, and killed the appeal. I love the layout, the different vent styles is...
I bought an HP 230W power supply for the HD-plex 160W..it was $50 inc shipping, however, if I was to do it again I'd get the Dell Slim power adapter (240W) as it's MUCH smaller than the one I have (which is a giant brick)
I was more thinking more silicone fan mounts (as used in the top) but your idea works as well!
And if one doesn't use a fan, then there are no issues with screwheads...
The feedback I have is make the back dc-dc jack point accept 20mm c to c for hd-plex users. And have the ability to mount fans to the vented side panel.
So here is my build:
Xeon E3-1231 v3
Asrock Z97 ITX-AC
8GB ram
512GB Crucial MX100 SSD
1TB WD RED 2.5"
2x noctua 80mm pwm redux fans
noctua NH-L12 with lower fan
HD-plex 160W
GELID Silent Slim 12 120mm PWM PL on the side of the case on top of the NH-L12 it *just* fits
I had a scythe slim...
I live in a sub tropical climate XD it's always hot and humid here, even winter (as it is right now) can get up to 25-30C (77-86F)
I've ordered some heatsinks to put on the mofsets of the PSU see if that will help control the heat a bit off the PSU.
FYI there is enough room between the cover and the NH-L12 to fit a slim fan...however I do not have way to mount a slim fan to the NH-L12 but I have a 100mm slim fan from sycthe which I will try to mount on to the cover it self.
Yeah, I think it depends on the temp, I was able to run it today for approx 1 hour or so, then I left for an hour, and came back and it had rebooted.
I can run kombuster, and prime95 for many many many hours on their own without any issues though.
I'll try undervolting, I am running a xeon...
I just finished building my system.
Found the limits of the 160W HD-plex, about 30 min into 8 thread prime 95 + Kombustor GPU burn test = reboot :D
Running OCCT 8 thread + Kombustor now.
I had to go with a NH-L12 HSF (lower fan only and heat pipes vertical pointing up as that's the ONLY way I...
By the picture it looks like you are running the HD-plex 150 or 160W or are you running the 250W?
If you are running the 150/160W are you saying there are no issues with an overclocked 3770K and a 750ti? I have a 160W one on the way
I plan to mount the PSU using 3M VHB tape and the DC-DC jack...
I meant Z3...clicked the wrong button! Sorry!
yeah you could use two power bricks, but that would just make it more cumbersome, not to mention drive up the cost.
So I've noticed that hd-plex updated their website and now have a 160W PSU with 8A on the 12V rail;
http://www.hd-plex.com/HDPLEX-160W-DC-ATX-Power-Supply-16V-24V-Wide-Range-Voltage-Input.html
I've been thinking about HOW to get more power into the L2 without using the HD-Plex 250...I think I...
Yeah, the 4790 is cheaper than the 4790s by a little bit, in fact though...I think it might be cheaper to purchase a 4790K from overseas than it would be to purchase a 4790 (non k/s) here...
Thats the PSU I'm looking at...if you could take pictures and ensure that a 2.5mm drive can fit under that would be great :D (as in not having the PSU sit ON the HDs, but moving the HD cage down to the bottom of the case (while still vertical) and putting the PSU above that!
It's not about pinching pennies (which Australia doesn't have...smallest coin is 5c) but bang for the buck...that will fit into a lone industries L2 case...I could easily afford the i7 4790K here (approx 415USD)...but I cannot justify it for my purposes
The i5s are much weaker than my old...
Actually...I found the answer to this.
The Xeon will outperform the 4790S in anything above 2 cores loaded...
The S run at the SAME voltage as the non S...but they are limited by their power...so the turbo boost is very different...
with 4 cores loaded the MAX turbo boost the S will see...
Cause I'm building a pico-psu based system....that's the reason
That and the 4790K is $140 AUD more than the Xeon...just saying can't compare US prices to Australian prices.
Anyone with the case and the 750ti LP, I'd like to know how much it blocks the second slot, as i'd like to see if putting this in http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Star-Tech-2-Port-USB-3-0-A-Female-Low-Profile-Slot-Plate-Adapter-NEW-/300997724874?pt=AU_CablesConnectors&hash=item4614dccaca&_uhb=1 is...
So looking in the case and taking some quick measurements, it looks like it's possible to move the 2 2.5" drives down so they are not in the middle, then the HD plex 250W should fit above that, of course that will involve ditching the included brackets....but it's nothing velcro or 3M VHB if you...
I'm building a new system, trying to go low on a budget, the Xeon is approx $65 AUD cheaper than the 4790S....but the 4790S can turbo to 4 ghz where the Xeon is only up to 3.7ghz where the base rate is 3.2ghz for the i7 and 3.3ghz for the Xeon...
My question is which one would have better...
I got my black L2 with the vented side panel, made it to Australia very safe and sound! Still have one more final exam to go, so hopefully soon after that I will start to look for parts and see what I want to build :)
When I first read this I read that as 2000 * 1000 or 2 million dollars! (as K = 1000)...and I was like
Potentially instead of 1TB SSD get 2x 512GB SSD and put them into a Raid 0 for even more speed! I feel SSDs are reliable enough to have them in raid...and you may be able to make use of...
