Firefox always deletes cookies when closed

Actually, I didn't see that. Not the most intuitive choice on Firefox's part but I feel dumb nonetheless. Thank you.

Firefox always deletes cookies when closed

I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to deal with this - Firefox always deletes all of my cookies every time I close the program, no matter what the cookies settings are. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it. It remembers usernames and passwords; I would prefer it kept cookies until they...

External monitor not working properly with vostro 1500

I have an almost 2 year-old Vostro 1500 with XP Home that I'm trying to hook up to a 23" Acer X223w via a VGA cable. The picture looks fine except that everything on the screen has successively more faint copies of itself slightly (in about 1mm increments) to the right of itself. Text, windows...

    Trendnet TEW432-BRP dropping wireless daily

I have a Trendnet TEW432-BRP wireless router that drops wireless connection, daily, at least 5 days a week and has to be reset. I never experience problems with the wired connection. The site says not to upgrade firmware unless the release note says it addresses the problem I'm having, and it...

Pop's computer restarting during OS load

I gave my dad an old junker that I built some years ago running XP Pro. It worked fine for a couple of years but has recently started acting up. After the OS loading screen disappears the system restarts and tries again ad infinitum. Safe mode yields the same results. I checked the temps and...

Question for IT employers / industry people

I am an amateur hardware hobbyist, but I'm using that title generously. I have an interest in computer hardware, and I have built a few machines for personal use since about 13. I seem to be pretty good at it as far as taking care and building things that don't explode. I am a junior in college...

can ISPs help with setting up routers?

the only thing in the MAC address clone tab on this router is a user-defined WAN MAC address, which requires inputs. I tried setting this to the MAC address of both of my computers and the address of the connection itself and there was no change.

    clock speed inconsistent

I'm overclocking an Athlon XP 2600+ to 2ghz and, according to cpu-z, it sometimes just decides to run at 1200mhz. When I restart and go into bios the settings are as I left them and, after I do that, it will be back at 2ghz again. I have no idea what is causing this. any ideas?

    TV question

I have a somewhat aged TV-VCR combo (manufactured mid-90s I'd guess) that is having a problem. While in storage it was perched on some bins, and it fell off and landed on its screen, a fall of about 2 feet. It still works except that the color is off in the top corners of the screen; being all...

A Geek Squad guy told my mom range extenders can circumvent wireless security

My mom's trying to find a way to get cheap wireless, and the Geek Squad at our local Best Buy said that if she bought a range extender she would not have to login to nearby password-protected networks. This sounds kind of fishy to me, but then again I don't know much about wireless or networking...

    Router blocking AIM service
