It will affect it, like a horizontal line will become longer than a vertical one even though your hand travels as long (did that make sense?)
Wacom has however recently released a widescreen tablet which you might wanna look at, in Wacoms software theres also settings for how much of the screen...
Heh.. guess the 2005FPW ppl are really screwed.. as a 2x2001FP owner I don't feel very screwed tho.. putting a 2004FPW inbetween my 2001FPs would be _SWEET_, 2004FPW and 2001FP have the same height resolution and I think the height of the panel only differs 2cm or so (alittle less than an...
most arms Ive seen support max 8kg (something like 17lb?) which should be enough for the 2005FPW, weights in at just about that with the stand which weighs pretty much..
Anyways.. Im also interested in this.. but 1 arm for 2 monitors.. so let the links fly :P
as I stated, theres dual link -I and -D, -I can use both analog and digital while -D is just for digital, and no, all DVI cables will not work with eachother, the connector on the 2001FP is missing the 4 out of 5 of the analog ports (analog ground is still there) so there isnt holes for DVI-I...
Sorry for bumping this but just out of curiosity I checked some stuff.. and I might have a reason for the problem.
Theres alot of different DVI connectors, DVI-I single/dual DVI-D single/dual and DVI-A, I checked a long time ago if my gffx 5900 had DVI-D connector which would have explained why...
Hope that happens to my 2001FP in 3-4 years :) DELLs latest is probably pretty sweet by then :P I upgraded my warranty to 5 years too so Im hopeful (dunno if its possible to do that on any DELL site but I ordered thru a friend at DELL and its in their ordersystem, costs like 10$ more so ofcourse...
when it comes to crt vs tft, Id say go for tft, even if you're into graphics.. if you're so into graphics that everything needs to be an exact color, a normal CRT wouldnt do it anyways... for color correction at companies REALLY expensive monitors are used.. which hold the color calibration...
Yea have the same problem.. got a 5900 too.. used 9600xt for a while and that had signal on dvi on post.. Ive been thinking if it has something to do with using dual monitors, what monitor is primary etc.. havent bothered trying much tho..
Maybe this doesnt apply to US DELL but I worked at the government sales part of DELL here in Sweden for a few months and the only way they got their discount was if their contactperson contacted their sales rep... so based on that, try asking your sys admin..
But then again, wouldnt suprise me...
If u can afford it *cough* I dont see why you cant start with the more advanced apps really.. if you choose maya tho, make sure you take a while to understand the interface, its nothing like any other windows application IMHO
Strata was the first app I used, I used it for mac, dunno if theres a pc version.. I checked their homepage a while back and it wasnt too impressive.. just didnt seem to be on the same level as maya or 3dsmax.. but thats just my impression, based on nothing really :)
As for rendering.. the...
3dsmax or maya are both good obviously, Id choose the app depending on the work you wanna do, if you're going for lowpoly work like games Id go with 3dsmax, if you want to work with highpoly stuff like commercials, effects for movies etc then Id go with maya.. simply cus thats how its divided in...
It seems its very individual, I never notice any effects from the response times, the contrast however could be better but its fine to watch some "dark movie" still IMHO
What graphics are you doing? the idea of any proffesional digital graphic artists having supermonitors is somewhat a myth I think, the companies Ive visited don't have any special monitors except for a few where the actual color balance is adjusted.
After school Im hoping I can make it as a 3D...
Read the text, you can mail the guy and get them
anyways.. http://wallpaper.deviantart.com/dualdisplay/ is a good place to start, even if the site is f**king slow
as for the filetype discussion, lossless compression all the way, bmp, png and tiff (I think).. rared/zipped bmps if you...
I already have a 2001FP so for a 2nd monitor another 2001FP is an obvious choice, but even for a single monitor I'd go with a 4:3 monitor..
Most apps are designed for 4:3, and 16:9 is not 2x 4:3, If I really wanted to work with 2 apps at the same time for a longer period Id tilt my monitor and...
Running 1600x1200, havent played much on it yet but Im going for the highest res I can get good fps in.. see no reason to go under 1600x1200 in desktop
It aint the cable, Ive tried different monitors and if I try it with another vid card its OK, maybe the vga connector on the vid card, but its hard to see what could be wrong with a couple of holes ;)
Every once in a while my superstable systems decide not to be so stable anymore.. around that time, is when I get depressed :(
Seriously though.. my problem now is, when starting the comp I only get colored vertical lines, thats the first thing that shows up on the screen, so its before bios...
Im using a zalman fanmate to run the 120mm fan at the lowest RPM possible.. so theres hardly no noise at all from that fan, unfortuneley theres 3x40mm fans in the case as well (2 in PSU, 1 on CPU hs), they make some noise.. but nothing I can't stand
I might spend some time and money to buy...
According to a monitor roadmap I got in an email like.. 1-1½ month ago when I worked at DELL there was no planned update to the 2001fp yet, while almost all the other monitormodels had updates coming end of this year. Ofcourse, this is Swedish DELL, and we tend to get things later, but since you...
Yea, the air is sucked out of the case in the front, main reason is that a filter in the front would ruin some of the looks IMHO.
I probably wouldnt have done the same In a normal case since its bigger and has lots of small holes that could ruin the airflow, but for this case its seems to be...
This is a project I started a month ago.. I just completed it.. so check it out :)
Theres more pics and a short worklog @ http://alplex.noip.se/

Hey sandman what happened to my request? :P
I think its no news that there are certain companies behind the companies we see.. for example.. what makes a compaq a compaq computer? I know my friends presario has a Asus based motherboard for example, very little they actually produce themselves.
Hey I have a request.. some ingame pics in lower res, just wanna see how well it scales it over the pixels.. if possible in a number of different resolutions, 800x600 and up..
Great reply.. so I guess 172x is out of the question, 1/6 more space between the 2 monitors isnt much :p
What about height, 710t isnt height adjustable right? is that an issue?
As I said, I live in sweden, those are the prices I'd get them for, and thats below retail prices.. its wierd how much cheaper they are in the states.. It might just be cheaper to order from some american company, but I doubt many of them ship to europe plus the warranty would be pretty useless...
Im getting alittle bit sick of my DELL M990 CRT so I thought I'd look into upgrading it..
Ive got the money to buy a 2001FP or something like it I just don't know if the amount of money is justified.. anyways.. what would you choose?
I live in Sweden so the prices are higher than in USA (with...
