I'm looking to get 8GB of memory for my new build (4 x 2GB).
I'm browsing through Newegg and I noticed that the kits with four sticks are labeled "quad channel" memory.
I also noticed that it's actually cheaper to by two pairs of 2x2GB than it is to buy a single 4x2GB kit. For example...
That's weird. The Neo-Flex LCD Stand (33-311-060) I just ordered from Staples came in today and the screws work just fine. It came with 3 sets of four screws: one set of traditional Phillips head, one sets of thumb screw, and one extra-long phillips head for use with the adapter. The first and...
Hey, I'm thinking about getting the Spyder2 to calibrate my 226BW, but I don't know which version to get.
For someone who just plays games and surfs the web, is the express version okay? Or should I consider the Suite or Pro versions? I do view pictures and use Photoshop, but just occasionally.
Yeah, I was just testing. I have that added already in my shortcut.
Same thing with HL2. I know is supports 16:10 natively but I just wanted to see if it'll put black bars in 4:3 mode.
My only complaint with playing BF2 in widescreen (and this was pointed out in the WS game forum) is that it...
That's weird. I also have a evga 8800gts. And it was the evga boards where I first heard about the trick. It seems monitor dependant.
Have you tried disconnecting the DVI cable while it boots?
It depends on the game as they have different command lines, but to play in a window you edit the...
Several people on the Nvidia forums are experiencing a problem in which whenever you change flat panel scaling in the control panel, it reverts back to default Nvidia scaling no matter what. This is especially a problem if you have a widescreen LCD.
In other words, 4:3 games will look stretched...
Just noticed this on another board so if it's mentioned here already, sorry. Anyways, if you're not able to change scaling options under the Nvidia Control Panel, try this:
*Turn on or restart your computer but leave your monitor off.
*When your computer is done loading (like when the hard...
Nice, but the only significant change is the add of 8800 Ultra support.
Still haven't fixed the 8800 scaling issues for 4:3 games to widescreen LCDs. But at least they're working on it. :(
Looks like the C Panel has hit the U.S. because I have one in my hands.
I ordered it from Dell this week. I know, "Why not Newegg?". The reason I picked Dell is because I have a Preferred Account with them. Also, I live in Richardson and anything I order from Dell comes in the next day...
I just stopped by the Dallas CompUSA near Park Lane and Walnut Hill Lane this morning. There were few price reductions here and there but not everything.
I asked one of the guys about the clearance. Everything does have to go but it's not exactly an overnight process. It's a long process and...
Just a guess, but have you tried temporarily disabling your anti-virus software?
Just a few weeks ago, Doom 3 was tooked forever to load and it turned out to be the anti-virus. I had to put the game in the exceptions list and it worked fine.
Yeah, I was bummed out when Newegg ran out of stock. It was a good price too.
It's nice that ZZF has it in stock but the other problem is that for $20 more, you can get a X1950XT for $250 plus a $30 rebate (making it $220). So what's the point?
I guess the only justification for the price is...
Wow, thanks guys!
I'm in the same boat as the original poster as I was also looking at these two same exact cards this season. I kept going back and forth in my decision and couldn't figure out what to do.
I'm still leaning towards the X1950XT but the 256MB does worry me. Assuming that I...
Yeah, the reason why I was looking at it is because it has a better cooler and saves me the trouble of installing one myself (which would void the warranty).
And the price is an issue. Newegg currently has a Gecube X1950XTX on sale for $360 after rebate. That's awfully close...
I'm planning on getting the X1950XT 256MB and I don't know whether I should get good ol' Sapphire brand or get the HIS IceQ 3 version for an extra $50.
Is HIS company reputable? Is the IceQ3 worth the extra $50? How good is their warranty and support?
Yeah, I'm kind of in the same boat as I'm looking for a good card for around $250-300 price range.
I though about saving a few bucks and getting the X1950Pro, but then I realized that for $60-70 more I can get a much better performing card.
I was about to get the 7950gt but then the...
It would be nice if Creative released another Limited Gamer Edition, like they did last time with the Audigy 2 ZS. Five full free games that makes the card pratically free. Then I would buy it.
Let's just say about $200 is the max. It's not like I'm recording studio music. ZipZoomFly has Sennheiser HD595 for $180 plus free shipping, which is what I'm looking at now.
I think people are reading the title wrong. X-Fi CMSS-3D is one item (http://www.soundblaster.com/products/x-fi/). It simulates surround sound even with a pair of stereo headphones. I think he meant "X-Fi CMSS-3D: Headphones vs Surround Speakers".
Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. Right now I'm looking into Sennheiser. I'd still like to have both speakers and headsets, for flexibility reasons.
Just curious, but I noticed that some of the higher end headphones say "open air". What does that mean and what difference does it make?
Yeah, it looks like an idiotic question. But seriously, is it better to get a headset with an attached mic? Or seperate headphones with a mic stand?
Seems to me that headset is more cost efficient and easier to transport to LAN parties. However, conventions like QuakeCon and CPL happen only a...
