I've got my Corsair HX750 for 7 or 8 years already (so slightly out of warranty)
Through I'll be replacing it soon as I found new HX850 (2017 Platinium rated model) for <110 euro on sale.
Guys I'm not asking about win 10 ;) I've used every windows since 3.11 and I don't want W10 in my pc as long as any viable alternative exists.
Nah I was too lazy to update it - it's 6700k with 16 GB of ram now :)
Well anyway I got that 1080ti
I noticed that Nvidia only have windows 7 or windows 10 drivers for RTX series. 8.1 has same drivers but with * saying it's not covering 20xx series.
Is there any way to get win 7 drivers working on 8.1 (iirc it was said it's possible when AMD dropped 8.1 suport totally)
Now I've got two...
Do it fast - stock of Pascals is running out and prices are increasing.
In my local market we barely got any deal on 1080/1080 ti so 2070 is similar price to 1080 here which makes it acceptable value.
I don't know about situation in America but in EU supply of 1080ti is almost done and they are back to slightly above MSRP prices so if 2070 cheaper SKUs will be available they will be very attractive.
Good job with review. If Nvidia is pissed it serves them well because they had opportunity to provide fair review terms like they used to for years instead they tried to play AMD and influence reviews.
Hmm I wonder if this card would be good upgrade over 980ti (reference) I have now. 1080...
I hope we will get 1170 with 1180ti performance for around 500$. I'm still on 980ti so anything less is not worth upgrading and I'd prefer to have something around 150-180W tdp this time.
Telemetry is just a nice bonus - real end game is full control of all software sold on pcs through UWP and for that they need windows 10 running on every pc first. Next step is going to start installing UWP only version of windows 10 which people will have to upgrade to run legacy apps...
Phantex Evolve ATX with tempered glass side window. I got rid of my Raven 2 as hdd mounting was really outdated on those cases and overall size got problematic.
Would be cool if Silverstone made a refresh to address cable management and hdd/ssd mounting.
Yeah sure - except we live in an era of PR speak they might be calling it Sabbatical to not admit product is failure. I won't be surprised if they claim various family matters force him to resign after that.
I'm wondering about that AA problem- are the techniques affected mostly ROP dependant? Maybe instead of solving Fury X problems AMD went even deeper into "do everything with shaders"
Most people replace gpu much faster than cpu. So making slight compromise on gpu to have stronger core of the platform is better long term.
And even in very multi-core friendly engines 1600 is going to struggle to match Kaby Lake - number of cores isn't everything games also love fast cache...
I don't believe any marketing by principle but in last few years when Nvidia presentation promised 20% increase then reviews after launch showed around 20% gains across the board while AMD showed stuff like 2x480 in Ashes...
970 I didn't really care since I buy for what I see in professional...
Sounds similar to Vega really.
On a side note I had 2900 pro 256 bit - after they cut obscene memory bus it wasn't that bad of card - bargain priced at 2/3 of 8800gt at that time and still much more powerfull than utter trash cards like 2600 ( I think that one was actually biggest failure ever...
That's because they have history of showing numbers that were insulting to IQ of any hardware enthusiast and their PR is targeted at people who like to visit r/AMD.
Hmm I start to think that Vega indeed might be new architecture (I used to think it's GCN with 2xFP16 few months ago) and as we...
It's pretty obvious that this is AMD Titan designed to bleed the faithful and the whole it's for pro marketing is just to avoid comparison to Titan which AMD marketing attacked for years.
The only Pro usage I can think of is game development if companies want headstart for PS5 development.
I don't know you would have to ask people believing in magic gaming optimisations, drivers , not strong enough PSUs and whatever else theories will be produced over next few weeks. Or make a thread on r/AMD.
But I'll admit I have a flaw in character - I love that crow serving moment when I was...
More like it's where we expected it to be from TF number and usual lower AMD efficiency in dx11 per TF.
I can't wait for meltdowns when actual gaming card scores barely better
You see people paying 800$ for helmet and 20-30$ for few hours long experiences - why would any company not try to charge full price for big VR game when they have near 0 competition?
Well that's the whole issue - heat becomes problem. GTX 470 showed me that clearly when I couldn't play on my pc due to heat outside when I runned "energy efficient" combo of Phenom II X6 and gtx470 few years ago.
Sounds like they fucked up by announcing it too early. The clock speed is chosen to barely hit that 6TF target they promised year ago and to even reach it they had to use exotic cooling, Meanwhile Sony is sitting comfortably at 400$ with 4,2TF machine that was sold at profit since day one and if...
