Being a recent 2600K Sandybridge user to move to the 6700K. It was not the CPU that got me to move. It was features on the newer chipset / motherboard that I wanted. And my older ASUS MAXIMUS IV Extreme and 6700K still runs great as a second system.
I've still got a pair of Force GT (SATA II) 240 GB and they run great... even if a bit slow by current standards. Been looking at the 960 500GB myself. But it's nice to see other entries into that speed market. I hope it brings the price down a bit since Samsung can basically charge whatever...
Well if we are going from the begining....
Diamond Steath + Monster 3D 8MB (And I still have them BOTH!!!!!) > Monster 3D II, VooDoo 2000, VooDoo 4000, GeForce 2 MX, Radeon 8500, Radeon 9700 Pro, after that it was such a blur of cards.
While I do find it a little "I didn't get invited to the party" you have a very good point. And that is very sad. I remember when AMD and ATI merged and the idea of them putting something special together to make a really good platform was great sounding. It's a shame both groups have done...
I'm going to second this one. If you don't plan to re-apply every 6-12 months I would go with Céramique 2 . The 2 is SO MUCH easier to work with then the first release that was basically spreading a pencil eraser . But it will last forever.
On the short term. I've played with IC-Diamond, MX7...
Ok while I'm still inside the return / exchange period for my ASUS Max VIII Hero what is the difference between it and the Hero Alpha other then a colored light controller and header that I'll likely never use.
As the title suggest, I'm stripping a 750D down for painting and need some suggestions on the last small part before I can get it washed and in the paint booth.
On the upper 5.25 Drive area there are plastic latches to hold the optical drives and what not in place. I've looked it over as much...
I've not had issues with them breaking or getting stiff. As for the front door. After the 3rd time it broke I went and got velcro and attached that door that way. I took all hing parts off. I'll post a picture when I get home.
I really enjoy the current line up of Obsidian cases (I currently have the 800, 750 and 350). The main thing I like about them is how easy they are to work in and the clean looks without the un-needed plastics on the outside.
Something I would like to see is a much more modular case system...
They should allow you to play xbox games on the PC. No XBONE needed. It's not like it's a licencing thing! PLUS it would open up 2 communities of games to playing nice. Want to charge for Soft xbox in windows sure, but lets face it. Our hardware laughs at consoles, why not let the game makers...
At this point it's more of a motherboard and chip-set / feature race. I don't expect to see a lot of difference from my 2600K that I was able to once get 24 Prime stable @ 5Ghz. (Water cooled and over volted to hell) It's more about the motherboard and the features it offers. Coming from a Z68...
My 2600K was 5.0 stable, the motherboard however was not as stable rocking a p67rev3. And honestly it's the motherboard features I want. The cpu, let's face it. It will be nice to see a faster chip, but its no deal breaker or maker. M.2 pcie3 and pcie3.0 for my gpu are really what I want. ddr4...
Ok I'm going to be working with a Corsair 750D
I'm going to be cooling a Skylake board and chip, (When ever it's out) and 2x GTX 980 in a single loop.
I was leaning to 2x Black Ice Nemesis 280GTS® Ultra Stealth U-Flow Low Profile Radiator in a push pull with some high pressure fans. Not...
I just don't understand why this is even an issue for them. In a sealed setup why can't they just use some ultra fine ceramic or other TIM. I'm dropping 3-500 for a processor if not 3x that for the X chips when/if they are released for Skylake-E why can't they spend $0.25 cents on each chip for...
Looking to transition from normal tubing to hard tubing.
From the looks of it correctly fitted compression fittings should do the trick. I've been looking at the Monsoon fittings.
Well it's that time finally after several years in place to upgrade my setup.
Since Radiator and Block tech has not really changed much in the last 5 years (lets face it the laws of thermal dynamics don't change) I need to do some cleaning. I have to admit I've not flushed my system in 2-3...
I have 2x ASUS GTX 680 Directcu ii 4GB cards in great condition /w current firmware for sale. No original packaging.
Asking price $200 Shipped for the pair. $100 Each if sold individually.
Cards are in great working condition and in SLI will still over power most games @ 1080P res. Local...
Let's just hope everyone has read Asimov.
1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own...
Well I guess they don't build them like they used to. My old 2600K is STILL running @ 5.0 GHz 24-hour prime stable. I really am looking forward to the day I can retire this old beast. Guess not yet.
The 3770K only has 20 PCIe lanes and that is going to be a MASSIVE bottle neck for a 3rd card even with the nvidia PCIe lane chip. You should really consider moving to a a 4930 (LGA2011) setup for the extra PCIe lanes. And then you might want to consider a 4x GTX 680 setup (Great for the price)...
