I was actually going to order my new PC within the next week thinking that even if it the R600 was faster, no point in getting it with its huge power requirements. There is no actual reason for me to get the PC now so I'll wait another month or so and get the X2900XT.

Well, my video card fan won't work due to an unsuccessful fix attempt so now it's running on just a heatsink. So I either need to buy a new 9600XT or upgrade. However, to upgrade I'd need a new power supply since the Dell is only 250W. I'm looking at this which is $120 and way too exspensive...

I just bought the Arctic Silencer 2 for my 9600 XT. The power connector for the fan though will not in any way come close to fitting on my Asus 9600XT. Right now it's running with just the heatsink which hopefully will not ruin the card. I periodically check it to make sure it's not getting hot...

The fan on my Asus 9600XT is making weird noises and I need to replace it. I've never done anything like this before, but I'm hoping it's not too tricky. Anyways, where can I find a fan that would work on this card? Also, if there are any good links on instructions on how to replace the fan...

I just pinpointed it to my videocard fan which still seems to be spinning, just making noise while doing so. The card does not seem to be hotter than it should be either. Is it possible to replace the fan/heatsink on an Asus 9600XT or somehow make the noise go away!

Hmm, so I guess now it's down to Sennheiser HD-280 vs. Grado SR-80 vs. Sony MDR-V6. MDR-V6 having good comfort while Grado SR-80's may be the best for sound and HD-280's are in the middle, but have the most consistent reviews...May still be leaning towards them.

I just looked and it says $95. So, are the Grados comfortable enough where you can wear tthem for long periods of time just having to take them off once in a while for a few minutes? If I can find those for $80 maybe I'll get them over the HD-280's.

Well, now it appears I can go up to $85 because my dad insists that he's not comfortable in giving me "refurbs." This gives me a few more options. I didn't know you could get the Grado SR-80's for just $80. Not sure if that comfort means much for me though as they could be wearing them for 5-8...

Looks like I may go for that now. I read the review I found on these forums, and they're the highest rated in the price range on more than one site. I'll probably go with the refurbs from eCost and hopefully they really are like new. Nobody knows of Sennheiser refurbs being of poor quality do they?

497's good, but some user reviews have mentioned questionable durability and not great comfort. Right now I might go for the 280's, not sure on their value though for my use.
