Decided to do some upgrades on this system and I'm having a bitch of a time getting my raid 0 SSD's to install windows.
1. The array is created in the Intel management interface
2. I've use YUMI to boot windows 7 ultimate install, and then tried to load the drivers from here...
I'm having trouble with the Intel i350 dual port nic, only one shows up.
I only have one CPU. On the console it says slot1_cpu1 for the nic.
I just upgraded the box from 5.1 to 5.5 (5.1 only showed one as well)
I've tried installing drivers from here and still have only one nic in ESXi...
So this topic is geared towards a vendor claiming that their web based application doesn't work on a machine due to the face it was upgraded.
They had an 8.1 Home machine for a lock system. It was in place upgraded to 8.1 pro per the vendors advice. They claimed it does not work, and is not...
Looking to unload some thing I have piling up.
These items do not include original box, item conditions are like new. Removed from packaging and tested. Never "used"
I had plans on removing the internal drives from these. I just do not have the time.
All prices include shipping in the US via...
For those still wanting one of these they are back up again.
This time intel flavored. Snagged another one for a total of 3 and a norco! GF is going to kill me.
I had some light black dust on some high air flow areas. Very clean like you would find in a good datacenter. Swab the fan blades with a qtip, I'm sure you will find some dust. Perhaps some of these machines were never even used?
Anyone running 64bit VM's on these?
The CPU specs show they should be able to.
However when loaded with esxi 5.1, I'm unable to do so. Not too familiar with AMD's lineup.
Thoughts?
Anyone running ESXi on these boards?
I know they dont support IOMMU. According to the CPU specs they support AMD-V and should allow me to run a virtualized 64bit OS yes?
I got two. I really wanted to get three but I didn't see a need. Ill donate the cpu/board to the local hackerspace and keep the other to screw around with. Both boxes will have e3 xeons in them.
Nope.
I'm guessing most people will be gutting the board and adding in e5 or e3 xeons. I know of the two I bought only one will stay with the AMD board. The other will house another e3 xeon.
Having issues setting ACL thru windows as root.
I browse to the share \\servernick\sharename
security - edit - add - advanced - find now - and select the local OI user I wish to add.
I get access denied when hitting ok. I connect to the share as root.
Trying to make certain users read only...
Evening
Recently I added another storage pool
I copied data from the old pool to the new pool from within the VM.
I'm now having issues with permissions

I'm having trouble getting a Crucial M4 to show up in OI.
All other disks show up fine, the disk it needed temporarily to host a VM.
Ive tested the bay with another disk and it works.
I can use the drive on a windows box fine.
Any ideas?
It shows up in the controllers bios.
Yeah,
My co-workers are saying that the reason to have a dual cpu server is for HA.
Id be willing to bet if one cpu shit the bed, the system would halt.
IMO FAIL.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Would these make decent ZIL drives?

I have three kingston v100 64gb ML ssd's currently not in use.
I tried two of them mirrored and wasn't happy with their performance, it was only slightly higher write speed.
I have a budget of about $600 left (maybe more depending on what it gets me)

I have 8 wd 5000aaks drives, and only get about 35/MB's write speed 330/MB's read speed
I have 3 ibm m1015's flashed to IT mode
I'm running oi151, esxi5.0 8gb ram for the vm and two vcpu.
I have three 64gb kingston v100 ssds that I can use for a write cache.
Would this improve my write speed...
