Thanks for the reply, funny thing is I decided to reposition the pump so the inlet has an easier time, after repositioning the noise has stopped. Hopefully it stays this way. Thanks again.
My EK water pump has recently started making these buzzing noises off and on. Never did this when I first set up the loop. This is my first water loop, is this a sign the pump is going bad? It's only 1-2 months old.
It's like a bzzzzzz, stop, bzzzzzzz, stop, bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
Hello everyone, I am building an encoding box with an SR-2 and here is what I have come up with so far.
This box will be not used for gaming. Right now I have a CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX1200 listed
but I was wondering since I won't be gaming, what is the lowest wattage high quality...
Mine did the same thing, RAD wouldn't fill up all the way, air stuck inside. With the pump running I just moved the RAD around, sideways, shook it, upside down etc. If you see the pump losing water you can just quickly turn it off then start it up again. After a min or so of playing around my...
Well crap, I just installed a EK Supreme HF cpu block just yesterday, my first water cooling setup & now I read this.
SO EK says, "EK Water Blocks Company recommends, not to use distilled water silver in the loop in combination with nickel-plated blocks"
What the heck am I supposed to use...
Got a 980x now so I am selling my i7 920 which I bought around March. It's about 3-4 months old. I have been running it at @ 3.8Ghz (1.21-.122 vcore).
It does 4.0Ghz at about 1.25 and that is as far as I have pushed it (only for a day or so) so it hasn't seen more than 1.25 vcore.
It has also...
I am thinking of upgrading to a 980x (do lots of x264 encoding). I recently got this i7 920 D0 chip about 3-4 months ago. I have been running it at @ 3.8Ghz (1.21-.122 vcore).
It does 4.0Ghz at about 1.25 and that is as far as I have pushed it (only for a day or so) so it hasn't seen more than...
Update to my earlier post:
I was completely at fault, I had some bent pins, pins fixed board is running great. Currently @ 21x191 = 4.01Ghz 1.248 vcore, still trying to get it 100% stable. I was previously running at 3.8Ghz @ 1.20 vcore completely stable.
I just put together my system, Asus P6X58D & same GSKILL memory as pardo. Only 2GB of 6GB is recognized! Way to go ASUS, nice quality control you guys have there. I might have to end up trying to get newegg to send me a different make/model board. This is ridiculous. Seems they are rushing these...
It's back in stock as of today, just placed my order. Warranty I think the ASUS is 3 years, EVGA lifetime. EVGA support is better. I don't plan on keeping the board 3+ years and wanted usb 3.0 + 6GB SATA so I went with the ASUS.
Just do some reading on the Gigabyte UD3R. I was thinking of picking one up but changed my mind. It seems to be a little finicky when it comes to RAM. What threw me off was the reported coil whine it produces, which is supposed to be high pitched. Some say it depends on the PSU, some say it's...
