For modular PSUs, i think the 8 pin connector needs to be male-male. The one linked above is not male-male.

have you cleared cache ? while you may have removed all extensions, have you also stopped FF from automatically searching for any updates, whether to itself or to any possible extensions ? do you have any other program that is also searching for a connection at the same time as FF is starting ?

I think the HP Mini has the best positioning for their speaker, which given the nature of these netbooks, matters more than it should. Theirs is the only speaker that shoots sound directly at you, rather than from parts below.

i have the 289. purchased in june. no complaints while i ran the monitor with a 88000 GTS switch to a 4879 512MB and now I can't stretch the screen to fit the panel. the OSD doesn't have the option to do so. the left edge of the windows start button is off screen. any ideas ?
