Okay so this case is EXACTLY what I've been looking for, for a few years now. I hate how all the other small cases that fit a normal video card are all cubes that still take up too much room on a desk. Since I'm obviously too late for the kickstarter, when do you think I could reasonably buy...
Doh hit reply too soon. I'm a highly mobile IT guy and it's basically a godsend. If you've ever had to walk a multiple story datacenter doing audits with an excel spreadsheet then you realize the value of this (even an RT would've worked well).
I'm glad to have the choice personally. Trying to use the desktop with touch is exactly why the previous generations failed. Now I can use the desktop the way I always have but also have a touch interface that's awesome. Later we'll see where it goes, but metro is light enough and easy enough to...
I know this type of stuff and I'm just a random nerd. Reviewers should know and try this type of thing too. Instead they just loop movies nonstop. Wouldn't it be great if reviewers actually gave you inside AND outside figures and knowledge to make our decisions on? Instead it's "well we...
How are you repeatedly missing this. I'm talking about progress, evolution, change, and you are like doo dee doo credit cards aren't TV!!. To do the HDMI workaround I'd have to buy a laptop wouldn't I, and then move my 5.1 stereo from my Xbox to the TV and then back again after. Just because...
Gah ignore that post ^^^^^
I'm manning up and taking care of it myself. I have a cable subscription, quite an expensive one with a DVR, but I wasn't aware of the show until it had already aired several episodes. I AM paying for it (Hulu too), but some idiot still managed to fuck it up...
Insert any analogy you want where we as mankind progressed except for a select few that refuse to give up old antiquated methods. How many stores do you hit these days that take only cash/checks? Very few because surprise we've progressed to electronic strip cards, NFC, paypal, etc. Have fun...
I want to start watching the new show The Americans, which is in the middle of a season. That means it's not going to hit DVD for awhile. It's not on Hulu on my Xbox though which is all I have attached to my TV, it's available web-only which means I'd have to gather my wife and I around my PC...
I could have some fun and say it wasn't women's right to vote back then, but then times changed and we all wised up. We are in that time now for digital media. The way it is right now is just flat out done wrong and it needs to change. Everyone has changed and is ready, and in some ways we...

The digital age is upon us and has been for a long time now. If media companies refuse to evolve then too bad for them. I subscribe to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime streaming, HBO, Xbox Music Pass, and probably a few others I've...
Honestly how accurate is that portrayal? Brute force CPU power isn't really the only factor in terms of how snappy or fast a system performs. Lots gets done by the GPU now, the chipsets have more bandwidth/interconnects these days, etc. I don't know what they use for criteria, but it seems...
Yeah technically you could call them comparable in a way, because a Surface Pro with keyboard is within a couple hundred bucks BUT you also get more cool stuff for that couple hundred. Longer battery, larger screen, better keyboard, etc.
I believe the HD4000 onboard video is actually "not bad" considering.

Scroll down for benchmarks. I imagine it would be fine for what you'd want, after all it seems your 3D needs take a back seat to your desire for portability...
I was just linked to this, it looks like a pretty amazing direction.

Lots of useful programs being recompiled and ported over to RT.
Honestly man, this notebook is serious bang for buck:

It pretty much covers all the standard features (Bluetooth, USB 3.0, HDMI) AND it has a touchscreen. It's probably the...
I actually just picked up the q200e which is a slightly older Best Buy version. Excellent notebook, and I have that same issue. Check this out:

I saw something about that...
People pay all sorts of money to try to turn their iPads into productive tablets, but they can never be a true proper productivity device in general. No office, no USB ports, no x86 programs, and for the most part unwieldy keyboards. The Surface Pro isn't perfect, but it definitely is going to...
I'm sorry but Metro snap is easily one of the best windows 8 features for tablets. I can't tell you how often I'd love to multitask on my phone or Nexus 7 after having used Win8 on a tablet.
With only 2GB of RAM you will also multitask less, however having used an older tablet with only 2GB of RAM I can say Win8 does a pretty good job still with regular office type stuff. Honestly, clovertrail right now is the sweet spot in terms of battery life, performance, and size. The Acer...
Every single one of those is still in Win8 (I even mentioned the pin to taskbar), and I never stated that picture showed the maximum. It was just demonstrating the location on the start menu.
It's not pointless at all when there are improvements all throughout the OS, they take something...
You simply cannot squeeze more battery life from a certain size battery. Surface Pro has a small physical battery. It doesn't matter how optimized it is, that's going to make it suffer. If you need that much battery life then you should probably go back to a proper ultrabook with a physically...
Windows 7 Start Menu:
*Windows key/Click start - Click several times/scroll to find desired program in list
*Windows key/Click start - Click program that you pinned for more convenience
*Windows key/Click start - Type first few letters of program/keyword then hit enter

The Wii U only had like three consoles in every store I called on launch day, but it had what 500,000 preorders? I think these days preorders/shipping get most of the stock, people don't go to brick and mortar as much as they used to.
Honestly I used a Surfact RT in my lap without issue for hours at an airport. Sure it's not as stable as a regular laptop because the weight isn't on the bottom, but it was hardly difficult. I suppose the angle of the chair might matter, but the keyboard does act as a stabilizer albeit a light...
