I'm calling BS on your # of lives saved and reduced carbon footprint assumptions. No doubt some lives could be saved, but you're likely 2, 3 maybe 4 orders of magnitude off. The latest year of available data listed ~1.2 million traffic-related fatalities for the entire planet of ~7,300 million...
Yeah, sure you do...
I just can't get over how butt hurt some of you fanboys are over a piece of silicon. If you're having to justify the Nano w/ quad-fire you've missed the point entirely.
What an awesome last couple of weeks for major video card reviews! It's been quite a while since the competition has been this fierce between AMD (ATI) and nVidia. Now I'm gonna have to go hop on a plane just to go buy Kyle and Brent the beers that they deserve for these reviews!
You really haven't been paying attention have you? 2 house bills and CC&B are currently approved and "tabled" in the democrat controlled senate, while senate filibustered its own damn bill and the president has yet to even present a budget (other than the one that was defeated 97-0, in the same...
Don't waste your time, he never responds to his PMs nor his emails. I sent one to him back in December and never heard back. Save yourself the PITA and just grab one at the egg.
Cheapest 1.5GB 580 at the egg is $509.99. Four of those will push you over $2k and the dual 6990 will run ~$1400. I it will depend where your price/performance threshold is.
I couldn't agree more. I really hope Intel is spending its R&D budget on more compelling products/features than this snooze-fest. Seriously, no VT-d support? Yawn...
While I'd love to debate the merits of funding SETI vs. manned spaceflight, it seems like we're always forced to convince the those who control the purse strings how they can make more money, before we can pursue scientific endeavors...
Has to be the most idiotic, useless post ever. Way to try to hijack the thread with your mindless political rant. Go troll somewhere else...
I don't think anyone will disagree that nVidia has implemented features that can provide better image quality, but if the frame rates are unusable, then what's the point? We can all sit around a table and state that given an infinite amount of budget, power, and PCIE bandwidth, that nVidia...
WTF are you smoking??? Tell me what a great job the Gov't has done running the USPS, Railroads (e.g. Amtrak), Dept. of Ed., Dept. of VA, monetary policy, GM, etc., etc. You can thank "Gov't oversight" for the telephone, cable, ISP monopolies that we've been stuck with for decades.
... power consumption and multi-gpu flexibility. So please layout for us a testing methodology that pleases you and would show nVidia's GTX580s/590s in a more positive light.
One reason above all others... I have NEVER had a Corsair module fail... EVER. In the past I've owned many brands of memory... Corsair, Kingston, Crucial, G.skill, Patriot, etc. and only Corsair modules have been 100% reliable from day one across multiple technologies (DDR3, DDR2, DDR...
I think that you may be a bit generous there. Seriously, is anyone surprised? These are the same ass clowns who waited for hours in line, in 90-degree heat over a damn mobile phone...
Just a heads up to everyone biting on this deal, ZZF set me not one, but two sets of these Corsair modules that looked like they had been drug through a gravel parking lot. They were a real pain in the ass to work with and didn't give me a refund until almost 45 days later.
Just FYI.
