OK, so now I have another problem lol
When I try to read a few files on my D: drive, I get a pop up that says "D:\file is not accessible.......The file or directory is corrupted and unreadible"
Some files work, others don't o_O
I've learned over the years to store the major stuff on my D...
I let it update once more (took about 20 minutes) and the touchpad seems to be working fine again
Just checked for updates again and it says I'm up to date
Well, this didnt last long lol
Touchpad keeps freezing on me every 5 seconds or so
Adjusted sensitivity in settings, but no real change (updates always f@ck sumthin up)
And after clicking on check for updates, it started downloading new ones (even though it said it was up to date just...
Nothing else running on task bar
Only things that show anything percentage wise are the things I'm using (touchpad, taskbar, etc.)
The media creation tool gives me the option to "upgrade"
When I click on it, it starts downloading Windows 10
Doesn't say anything about updating
Gunna let it...
See, this is how bad I am....
When you said "a/v", I assumed it had something to do with some kinda Audio/Video app (f@ck)
I don't have any 3rd party anti-virus stuff, only windows defender and I can't seem to find it in task manager.
I do see an "Antimalware Service Executable" process that...
It originally came with Win8 (along with Toshiba's typical bloatware) and over time it would try to force me to update to Win8.1, which would always cause issues.
I'd lose a lot of key features key features and it would slow down the entire system quite a bit.
Stuff like the BlueRay Burner, 3D...
I've got an old Toshiba Qosmio X875 Laptop that's been my rock for about a decade now
Originally came with Win8, but udated to Win10 Pro about a year ago
Thing is, it keeps trying to force updates and everytime it does, I get a pop up saying it couldn't complete and it's undoing changes
This...
It's stillbdoing some kinda update
I wasn't able to get back to the setup screen again, so I just did another full restore and installed 1.4.4 again
Was able to connect and get past the setup, but when I try to use the web, I'm still limited
Some sites work that didn't work at all before...
Ok, I'm a total f@cking idiot
All this time I've been thinking it's a Nook Color
After looking up the model number, it's actually a Nook Tablet
Downloaded the correct update and it loaded up as it should
OK, just downloaded the file directly onto the Nook from the B&N site and it showed up as a zip file (not WinRar)
Ejected, but still nothing
Gunna wait a bit and see if anything happens
OK, as a zip file, I can't open it on my laptop or the Nook (connected as a drive)
I get a pop up that says:
"Windows cannot open the folder"
"The Compressed (zipped) Folder C:\blahblahblah\Desktop\nookcolor 1_4_4_update.zip is invalid"
As a WinRar, I'm able to open it and see all of the files
I changed the file from a WinRar to a zip and tried again, but it still didn't uppdate after 40 minutes or so of waiting
Is it possible to force the update somehow?
OK, I was able to get past the setup menu using those links :)
Connected to my laptop and transferred the zip file once again (for some reason, it wasn't in there)
Ejected USB, but it still won't automagically start like the Nook in the B&N video
On a sidenote, does it matter that the file I...
It's a 5G router (not sure how to go about dropping it if possible)
I did try it on my cousin's older 2.4G router earlier today and it had the same problem
From what I've read, the update from 1.4.1 to 1.4.4 is supposed to take care of the network issue, but how do I get past the setup screen...
Ok, we're getting somewhere (sortof)
Swapped cables and it immediately connected (DOH!!)
Copied the files over to the Nook (unzipped file as shown in their video), but when I ejected the USB, the Nook did nothing
Shut it down and restarted, but still went back to the setup page
Tried copying...
Thanks
I downloaded the file for the Nook Color, but my laptop doesn't recognize the Nook when I connect it via USB
Tried copying the file onto an SD card and popped it in the Nook, but then it just said it was not recognized and to format it
So my niece was cleaning out her room yesterday and I noticed a little e-reader/tablet in a trash pile
It's a Nook Color exactly like this one
She said she hasn't used it in years and it wouldn't turn on, but I charged it overnight and it powered up just fine this morning
Connects to my...
Yep, found these videos:
Crucial Chat confirmed that I can do a pair of 2TB SSD's along with the 32GB RAM
They also said I can clone my current C: drive using a USB adapter, but would it be possible to clone it in the D: slot, then swap it over to the C: slot?
Thanks for all the help, guys
She seems to be running smooth, but now I'm thinking about doing some upgrades (I can't leave well enough alone lol)
Back when I placed my original order almost a decade ago, I maxed out all of the options at the time (2 x 1TB HDD's/16GB RAM)
Thinking...
Well f@(k me running!!
Just cleaned the lens with a cotton swab and some alky and now it recognizes DVD's (DOH!!)
It also recognized the BR in VLC, but it had some kinda pop up saying it wouldn't play for some reason (license?)
**Edit**
Switched to Leawo and the BR disc now plays :cool...
It had worked just fine while on the original Windows 8
Years ago when I tried to update to 8.1, it caused nothing but headaches.
None of my top row keys would work right, touchpad was laggy and the DVD drive quit working in the same fashion (made noise and wouldn't read)
I just did a system...
I tried it and with a DVD, it made some noise loading before finally saying no disc
When I tried to load a BR, it didn't make any noise and went straight to saying no disc
Downloaded CCCP (I hope this is the one you guys are talking about) and tried it with VLC, MKV, Leawo and WMP-C...
Ok, I just uninstalled the drive, but prior to doing this, I took screen shots of the details
Now the DVD drive is not listed
What do I do now?? (I'm a puter idjit btw)
That's Toshiba's website (same one where I've gotten all of my drivers)
When I try to install the two...
Toshiba Qosmio X875-Q7390
Originally had Windows 8, but crashed last week and lost all the Toshiba bloatware as well as the apps that made in functional
Did a fresh install of 8.1, then immediately updated to Win10
Installed all the drivers I could find on Toshiba's website, but my DVD/BR...
Looking for a dedicated tablet or 2 in 1 to run TechStream
Been using my ancient Vaio TX series running XP, but it's a bit slow and I'd prefer sumthin with a touch screen

Thanks for all the info
Unfortunately, I'm with at&t/yahoo :(
Since I've been using OE for as long as I can remember (still have emails over 10 years old saved), I'd like to stick with it as change doesn't come easy to me :o
Anyhoo, here's where I am with OE
