Never said he can get it anywhere. He is just wasting money if he gets a 1950pro.
He really isn't upgrading anything coming from a 7800gtx. They are in the same line of performance.
I've used WHQL drivers and the latest beta drivers. Same thing. Crash within 20 minutes.
It's all good I have vista x86 for my gaming needs. Use vista 64 when I need it. ;)
Fact is people still have problems running their apps on Vista 64. Unless you are willing to only work with what MS gives you I suggest you stay away from Vista 64 until 64bit apps become more mainstream.
This is the reason I dual boot now. When I need to work 64bit stuff I have Vista 64...
What does game pad drivers have anything to do with a BF2 and my system crashing?
FYI I unplugged it out of Vista 64 because it does not work and even rolled it back to my first install.
If you don't have a answer for my problem I suggest you stick your head in a toilet...
How did you get it to work? What else do I have to get it to work? I installed the patch and installed Vista certified drivers and I gave it administrator rights within 20 minutes my computer froze. It did this 4 or 5 times in a row on stock settings.
When I played it on Vista x86...
Exactly you can add more effects with 8600gt and it still perform faster.
7950gt is considerably more or gone all together.. They 're more in the $200 bracket actually. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=1067923289&Tpk=7950gt
They are phasing them out for the new gens.
Works great for Vista x86. I don't game on x64 so I don't really care for it.
But one thing though.. I read that it doesn't support hdcp when you do this which is a bummer.. :(
My CPU usage went from 20-30% to much as 60% trying to play 1080p movie. Video actually looks not as sharp. :(
That's awesome. You are the first actually achieve 1000mhz on the memory. I've visited VRZone with best of best voltmodded 8600gt and they were only getting 900mhz at most. You are one lucky son of *****. :D
I'm getting over 60fps in Moh:Airborne @ 1024x768 and about 40fps in native...
Geez.. Jealous much. We can up the resolution and still get same fps while you are trying hard @ 1024x768. We get nearly 60fps in that resolution. :o
We don't need 100fps. I can live with 50fps even online. Single player I can live with 40fps.
Either way I'm going to upgrade my card...
You just got really lucky. I've never seen 8600gt even clock so high on the memory before even when it was heavily volt modded. What did you pay for yours? We didn't pay more than $130 for our 8600gts.
Look at my sig @ 1130. Nanny nanny boo boo. :D
So far I have not had a single problem with vista x86 coming from xp. it's the vista64 that is giving me trouble. I can have my cake and eat it too.
I think you are jealous. :D You really wish your video card had a little more ump to be a decent midrange card. But you are at the bottom trying to get playable frame rates in Bioshock even @ 1024x768. What does CRT have anything to do with it? I can lower resolution too on my LCD. When LCD...
It works if you are ready to give up some 32 bit apps. Specifically games since it is huge market even for PC. Trying to fix drivers on vista 64 is a pain in the arse unless you only buy Vista 64 compatible hardware.
I'm going to dual boot anyways in a little while anyways. One for 64bit...
Hell yeah. All 8600gts have HDCP while most 8600gt don't. :D
Also you can't overclock the core as much on the 8600gt because it doesn't have molex connector to support more power. :D
You over payed it when they were first released. You are angry because you have to stick your bioshock @ lower resolution. :D You wish you could have 8600gts. :D
Same here. I couldn't stand my MSI 8600gts fan noise. I made it give 7volts by switching over the fan plugs. Now it's bearable. I'm used to hearing no noise out my system usually opted for After market cooler.
I don't think there's a difference in speeds between ddr2 and ddr3 other than that ddr3 have better yields to go higher.
Some ddr2 are rated @ 700mhz. Same speed as the 8600gt ddr3 models. Of course you can probably overclock better with ddr3.
Either way you can up a resolution with 8600gts...
Where does it say official 8600gt uses gddr3? What I'm thinking is that there are no official what x company uses. Long as it's rated @ 700mhz.
I think that's enough for now. You can argue with your sister.
