I've had my Evo since launch and so far I'm lovin it! The screen is awesome and I can no longer go back to the small iPhone screen for browsing, I actually find myself using the Evo more than my iPad to browse and watch YouTube. So far sprint service has been great with much better reception and...
I'm ditching my iPhone 3GS for this baby, with Sprint's family plan saving me almost $40 per month with MORE stuff it's a no brainer. WiMax tethering for my iPad? HELL YES :)
I can't believe so many people are buying the 3G version with certains apps being blocked and video downsampled. Tethering is way cheaper and does not pose any restrictions, in fact my wife was watching dancing with the stars on the ipad while we were driving the other day lol.
Sprint seems to be very agressive with the WiMax roll out to get a foothold on the 4G market while VZW and ATT are still squabbling over who controls what towers/frequencies for the LTE network. Fortunately I live in Herndon where the actual WiMax test labs are located so I KNOW I'll get...
It looks nice but I already decided that evo 4g will be my next phone, sprint family plan will save me almost $40 per month compared to AT&T(both with corporate discount) and you cant beat the WiMax tethering for up to 8 devices.
Why waste the extra $130 plus 3G plan when you can just tether without having to pay for another data plan? I tether my iPad with MyWi when there's no wifi around and it works great.
It's faster than safari, but pinch zooming sucks and it doesn't render many pages correctly. I will however be using it at work since the 3G at my office sucks balls with most websites taking an eternity to load.
Dungeon Hunter HD is a total ripoff, it looks like they just blew up the iphone version and called it a day. The controls are also pretty awkward due to the size difference between iphone and ipad.
When I still had my 3G iPhone it was pretty damn slow without multitasking, attempting to multitask usually resulted in crashes but the 3GS runs backgrounder like a champ.
Apple is never going to allow a torrent client into the app store since that would open up a way for bypassing the store to download apps and possibly malware which will cause a major headache for Apple.
So far iPad has been amazing I have been using it non stop since saturday. I love the browsing experience and typing is actually pretty easy once you get used to it almost as fast as a physical keyboard. This is undoubtedly the best gadget since iPhone, btw goodreader Is awesome for PDF...
It's not really a discussion because you made it very clear that nothing will change your mind. You think the iPad sucks, don't get it and have fun trying to use a desktop OS on a crappy TN panel touch screen. See, that was easy and to the point. :D
Well since you're so close-minded towards Apple products then WHY are you posting in the Apple forum? Last time I checked there are plenty of other sections on hardforum that are right up your alley.
In my experience convertible netbooks stink compared to an iPad. My biggest gripe is the fact that they run a desktop OS and while win7 is usable on a touch screen it is far from the intuitiveness of the iPad. I have not been able to put it down ever since I got it yesterday, hopefully my fiancé...
The reason why Apple gets so much hate in the technogeek community is because everyday Joes think they invented a lot of stuff when In reality Apple just made things intuitive and fun to use for the "average" customer.
That app does look amazing but I'm not in the Chemistry field so I wouldn't get much use out of it to justify dropping $14. I did get Sam and max game and outside of some performance issues it's well worth the $10.
Just got my iPad today it's AWESOME, the only downside is getting used to typing but after a while I got used to it. In fact I typed this post on my iPad. If anyone has questions fire away :)
Apple will never license OSX because last time they took that route hey almost went under. I believe that Apple has around a 30% margin while PC manufacturers however around 5-10% so they would undercut Apple's prices significantly causing lost sales.
Since Win7 still has the registry(worst invention ever?) it still requires reinstalls because it's virtually impossible to uninstall any piece of software without it leaving some garbage in your registry. Sadly MS will never get rid of the registry because it will break all compatibility and...
Technically it's illegal, but I'm pretty sure that nobody is gonna care you sell it on craigslist, MS isn't gonna waste thousands in litigation fees to sue you for selling one copy.
I think that it would be fairly obvious that it has a smaller market share because it's only offered by ONE vendor while there are a zillion PC manufacturers shipping windows boxes.
Dell vs Mac shouldn't even be a question. It's like comparing a BMW to a Kia, I would not trade my MBP for any windows based laptop no matter the specs. Macbook trackpad is awesome, after using Macs I find PC laptops pretty much unusable because the trackpads are complete garbage and...
Bioware signed a contract with MS for 3 ME games, I'm that if EA tries to publish the game on PS3 they will be getting hit with a lawsuit faster then Madden can say "BAM!".
Sony requires that all games regardless of size use BD. BDs are also scratch resistant which is a godsend since I no longer have to worry about Netflix/Gamefly shipping out a scratch up DVD.
