I'm considering upgrading my gaming machine monitor. I have an older Dell 24" LCD that works fine, but is getting a bit old/boring.
There seems to be two directions monitors are going.
4K and Ultrawide
What do folks think would be the smart choice for me to consider?

I am not a PHP programmer. However, I do know in Windoze world (asp/iis) that maintaing "state" can be troublesome, especially if you are using session variables. If he encounters the problem again, he should close all his web browsers and try to access the page again. It might help to reload...
you could always do this scheme.
c:\ 5GB - empty
d:\15GB - Windows Dir.
e:\rest - games, data whatever
that way, if any script kiddies or virii hit your machine and target c:\windows, it'll fail. Unless of course they gofor %systemroot%
Thanks for all the feedback.
Seems like Creative may be the way to go..
Have you found the X-Fi Platinum to be well suited for games vs the Fatality? The only reason I ask is the Fatality includes the 64MB of onboard ram...I presume both offload sound processing from the CPU?
when you...
Hi,
I am looking to upgrade my sound card/setup on my gaming machine. Currently, I've got an Asus A8n-SLI32 motherboard and I am just using the onboard sound. So far it's been fine, but I am looking to upgrade.

Everything listed is used and works. I don't do paypal, so check or money order will need...
Hi,
I want to upgrade my monitor setup on my workstation. Currently, I have a single Samsung 191t that while working well, is getting a little old, and I am really running out of real estate while doing work.
I really like the 2405, at least what I have seen of it here on these forums...

Hi,
I am looking for a recommendation for a switch for use at home.
I'd like something that does 10/100 and possibly a couple of gig ports too.
Quality is important as well.
Want 16 or ideally 24 port for future upgrades
I am curious about the Asus GigaX1024P switch but can't find...

Hi,
Where's a good place to purchase bulk network cabling? I am looking for cat5e in the 250-1000' range. Nothing fancy, just pvc, stranded etc. Primarily concerned about quality, and good price. I've got my own tools to create the patch cords, I just need recommendations on a place to...
Greetings from a fellow Illinoisian (I'm in Champaign-Urbana)
Have you tried something like this: http://www.wi-fihotspotlist.com/ ?
Other options include getting out your laptop, wifi card, firing up Netstumbler and wardriving a bit. Might take some time, but could provide you with...
Howdy,
I've got a chance to pick up a black Dell UltraScan P991 monitor for a decent price ~$100. It was new purchase (for owner) around 1 year old.
I've use the P991 at work and liked it - felt like a solid 19" crt monitor. It's a shadowmask tube (trinitron) which I like.
It would be a...
hey --
thanks for the follow ups. That was my next question - if Ican go with a standard ATX MB, what are my options for heat sinks? I like this swiftech HS (http://www.swiftnets.com/products/mcx462-V.asp), but I dunno if that'll fit in a 1U case. Where can I find "low profile" heat sinks...
Hi,
I haven't posted on the [H] forums much before, but I though I'd run my ideas by you all for feedback.
I want to build a 1U server, for running a game/email/web server for myself and some friends. I am looking at co-location services to house the server. I'd view this as 1. fun for my...
