I don't have a recital on April 30th....but why would you want to video tape it? Most of my performances are open to the public...but IIRC you don't even live in ohio....
I'm so, so, so, so, so sick of godlike choppers. Stingers rarely work. If I soflam, nobobdy uses javs. If I jav, nobody uses soflam. Someone is always in LAV in the middle of fucking nowhere. If I get in a tank I immediately get choppered before I get out of spawn.
The other mistake I made...
Not everything Apple makes is elite. But a lot of it is. Look, I own both Mac and PC. They are each better for some things. But Apple makes very high quality hardware lately. There's really no way to dispute it. Hell, the screen on my Air even came pre-calibrated to proper white point from...
GoldenTiger, my point is, some of us are discerning about quality and willing to pay for it. Some of us aren't. Clearly, you're in the latter category. There's nothing wrong with it, but don't pretend that lower quality items aren't any worse than truly elite products.
You can't even quote the right person....
BTW, a quality Samsung 46 in TV costs more than $1500. Same ballpark as the Apple:

You don't seem to understand that brand isn't everything. Samsung makes some greaet TV's and...
Your sharp Aquos sucks. I've seen it in person, calibrated, and it looks worse than the smaller Panasonic plasmas and Samsung LED's.
And before you get all cute on me, I watch a JVC RS-55. Son.
I agree. The multitouch gestures make web browsing a wholly intuitive experience that is worlds better than even my beloved trackpoint.
Not to mention, it's pretty pathetic for the PC makers when the Macbook Air's couple mm thin screen has LES FLEX and RESISTS PRESSURE better than the .5in...
I was a die hard apple hater for many years but after switching from a Lenovo Thinkpad to Macbook Air I can attest that the Mac is better constructed in every aspect; not to mention it is a vastly superior mobile user experience.
Were you displaying the Color HCFR window greyscale patterns while you did that? If so, that's correct. Your green is way too high. Here's how to calibrate better:
Set all colors back to 100. Throw on an IRE 70 pattern and click the little green "play" button in Color HCFR. On the left...
Here's a good guide:
http://www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10457
Here's the patterns I use, specifically I download the mp4 one for my computer and then use the Color HCFR Window greyscale patterns. There's 10 of them, and they correspond to IRE 10, IRE 20, etc...
Disregard my previous settings, I didn't realize I had accidentally changed the color mode.
This is the result of a calibration using xrite's iMatch software, confirmed with color HCFR:
Pretty damn good. My settings on the panel were:
Red: 100
Green: 92
Blue: 99
Contrast: 75...
If you want a quick and foolproof result to get very close, just use xrite's imatch software from their website. I wanted to see the difference between manually calibrating with hcfr and with doing it with the software, so I tried both then measured the results. iMatch got me under 2.7 delta...
I think your contrast is too low. I use:
R 91
G 82
B 100
Brightness: 35
Contrast: 100
That gives me delta e's under 1 for 30-80, 40 ftl brightness, 6500k white point, and perfectly flat gamma.
Well, Color HCFR is what I used and it's free. That should nail down the RGB settings for greyscale. Then make an ICC profile using one of many available programs and you're golden.
Actually, I find that hardforums is actually an easy place to notice a huge difference. The grey backgrounds...
I just got mine and finished calibrating it and have the opposite opinion. It is a clear night and day upgrade from my (decent and calibrated) TN. I used my i1 LT to calibrate it and the results are just absolutely perfect. It really makes my TN look bad.
I just wanted to personally thank you as I went ahead and got those cables and it works incredibly well. I hooked those cables up to the 110 block, wall mounted my router, terminated that cream WAN In wire with a RJ45, and plugged everything in. Swapped out all the phone jacks in each room...
Wow, believe it or not it was Teracopy. Uninstalled it and I'm back to full gigabit speeds in every situation.
I wonder why on earth it was causing the problem?
Here's the thing though - my single GTX580 maxes everything with 4xAA 1900x1200 on ultra including Battlefield 3. Granted, I've got a beefy processor backing it up but literally the only need for a faster card at present is for those running eyefinity/surround or a 30in display, which is a very...
If this is the case, I'll grab another GTX 580 used and just go SLI until around Christmas time. It would take a 400% AMD performance advantage to make me switch over. I'd rather get 25% of the FPS with Nvidia but actually be able to use my computer because the drivers don't completely fuck it...
That's pretty shitty. I was thinking about buying the case but that puts me off of it.
I fucking hate how all the case manufacturers have been cheapening their stuff each and every year since the original Coolermaster team left. My biggest pet peeve is Aluminum exterior with ugly steel...
Like mine?
FWIW I just upgraded from a pretty good TN (245BW) to a 2412M because I couldn't stand the vertical shift and lack of color calibration.
To give an example of just how bad it is, center that picture of my chair in your monitor. When I'm looking dead on, I can see all of the black...
This is one of the strangest things I've experienced. I just finished wiring my gigabit network. It's important to note that I DO NOT know what the cables look like inside the wall; I did not run them myself and only terminated the wall plates and patch cables.
Network looks like this, all...
The opaque greyness of all the windows and menu bars in OS X feels very dated to me compared to Windows 7's Aero transparency. Is there a way to adjust the transparecy of such UI elements?
