I have a Dell 2407 now and looking for something with higher resolution and better colors. From what I've read the Dell U3011 has hella accurate colors and that resolution would be perfect. I won't be gaming so I don't care about response time.
Is there anything better that I should consider...
I got a bunch of these I'd like to sell for $110 each.
It's the full retail version of Office Home and Student 2010 which includes word, excel, powerpoint and onenote. It can be installed on up to 3 PCs.
They have never been opened and are sealed with original shrink wrap.
I will ship for...
I have a DFI LANPARTY UT NF4 SLI-DR Expert mobo with onboard Silicon Image SiI 3114 controller. I'm using it with four 1.5TB seagate drives in RAID 5 on Windows Server 2008. I've been using the SI software for the past week but have been having a few problems.
First time I built the array, a...
I'm looking to spend $200-300 on a new UPS. Right now I have this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16842101225
but I just built a new computer and need a new one. It's a 3ghz core 2 quad, radeon 4850, and about 10 hard drives. Will be folding 24/7.
I'm looking for something to protect my home theater system. should I get something like this? http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-AP30800fc10-Theater-Battery-Technology/dp/B000T9DHZ2/ref=dp_cp_ob_e_title_0
or would a regular UPS be good enough?
which manufacturers make software that doesn't use much resources? I have installed a few HP printers before and they seem to add a bunch of crap, with their software loading at startup.
any recommendations?
is it possible to have a network connection with different settings for each user account?
I'd like to have one user account use a custom dns server address, and the other account use automatic dns server. both accounts are using the same connection.
this is for windows vista.
I already have both processors. The Q9450 has more cache, 45nm, and SSE4.1, but it has a lower multiplier and the QX6850 is unlocked multiplier. I figure I'll get a higher OC out of the QX and the clock speed difference would be better than having SSE4.1. Is it better for me to use the QX...
this thing is pretty cool.

www.motherboardpro.com
Anyone ever buy motherboards from these guys? Seems like a pretty good place for motherboards if you're an ASUS or DFI fan. Lots of stuff to choose from, especially older stuff (socket A, even Socket 370 :D) and nice prices too!
I found out about them today when I...
I have to replace the heatsink in my friend's laptop and apparently it requires a thermal pad but it did not come with one.
I was just wondering if there is a good online store (other than FrozenCPU - they don't have ANY in stock!) that sells thermal pads (in different sizes/thickness). I'd...
My friend's computer got this error when it boots up it will get past POST then it gives this error message "Disk read error has occurred. Press ctrl alt del to restart". This is on a 74GB Raptor and Windows XP Professional.
I ran 4 different hard drive tests including WD's DLG Diagnostics...
I'm looking for software that will track all traffic per day (up/down) and will allow me to view total bandwidth for certain time periods (month, week, etc).
NetLimiter seems like it would work great. I'll probably buy it unless there is something better. It must support Windows XP, and...
I know a lot of people use 3dmark (I do too sometimes), but you can't have it run continuously in a loop or even minimize to check temps.
nvidia demos do a great job of heating the GPU. Some even get it hotter than running 3dmark06.. and they run continuously. Lots of different demos give...
I had onboard RAID 1 with two 300gb drives. One of the drives was removed cause I needed it for something else (I was already planning on swapping the drives with 80gb drives)
So the computer has one 300gb drive in it.
What do I need to do other than imaging the 300gb to the 80gb? (like...
Posted here awhile ago. But I realize I was sort of asking the wrong question. If I can duplicate the profile, I can just manually change the SCT settings for each profile I duplicate.
Right now I have set up a Limited Account (GUI, icon arrangement, application data, etc). I need to make...
I'm basically just wondering if there's an easier way to make multiple locked down profiles with SCT... Right now I just have one "public" account where anyone has access to. But I'd like to make at least one more account that will have similar restrictions.
Is there a way to copy every...

Belkin 1500 VA Dual Form Factor Small Enterprise UPS - F6C1500-TW-RK - $140 shipped
I basically just need a good UPS, around $100-150 is the budget.
I guess this thread is just making me question the quality of these belkin UPS. I know it's a different line, and I'm thinking it might be...

EDIT: actually this is a 7800GT... also sorry if host is being slow!
built a computer for a friend about a year ago. He is now having overheating problems with his video card. Temps were around 90C under load. I find a ton of dust inside the heatsink, clean that, regrease GPU, and temps go...
I haven't been following this type of hardware really, just need help choosing parts for a powerful workstation/server. Price does not matter, only thing that matters is performance and reliability.
I really need some good responses ASAP... this is for an assignment.

Was just wondering if nForce3 supported the PCIe interface?
I thought it was just AGP, but then someone said that later versions supported PCIe.
I don't believe that. I looked at nvidias website, and it doesn't mention anything about PCIe. Just AGP.
Am I correct?
I just figured out you can get to the task manager by right clicking the task bar, then choosing task manager. Sometimes I'm lazy and don't feel like reaching over to my keyboard to press ctrl + alt + del, then press T so this will help sometimes I'm sure.
:) Who else didn't know about this?
it was in a system that was given to me. I looked on newegg and pcalchemy browsing through ATI tuners, but none of them looked the same. ATI's site doesn't show pictures.

This is my current setup. I have this motorola cable modem. I have a wireless b Linksys router (model BEFW11S4 ver4), and it has four ethernet ports. An old 600mhz iMac is connected to one port. My 8-port D-Link switch is connected to another...
Some background info:
I have the Hauppauge 150MCE TV tuner. I've had it for around a year, used in my current computer and it works great.
I just bought an AM2 system which I will now use for a family PC/HTPC. The motherboard has integrated DVI and also S Video, so I figured I wouldn't need a...
Just setting up a new family computer/HTPC I just put together... of course I'll be folding on it.
I installed F@H console on the administrator account which will only ever be used for installing programs.. but I want F@H to start up once the computer is turned on. Does installing F@H as a...

Building a family computer for basic tasks (folding too of course!) which will also be used as a "HTPC" for recording video or just watching video.
I figured RAID 1 would be good to use since I won't really be storing much data on this computer (video recordings will be transferred to a...

can someone tell me if the PSU is a standard ATX power supply? I checked the website, couldn't find anywhere what size PSU it can use. Didn't see any of the reviews mention anything about that. But I want to use an enermax with it...
I'm all for the layered defense and I did purchase Kerio Personal Firewall, and I love it. But someone said that if something got past the hardware firewall, then the software firewall wouldn't really help. And I honestly wasn't really sure about this, did a couple quick searches but I don't...
Just wondering if anything similar to the XP Shared Toolkit exists for vista beta. I'd like to use vista beta for a family PC but I need a way to lock it down... if I can't I'll just use XP.
Right now I am just looking for:
- DDR2 RAM, any speed
- small capacity hard drives (at least 10GB)
- socket A motherboard (must support tbred Athlon XP 2800+ processor)
don't have much for trade, only this crap:
- couple cheapo power supplies
- some decent sleeve bearing 80mm fans...
Ok, basically I need to pick out a decent monitor for a family PC. It will be used for basic tasks (email, web, music, video), and possibly some professional photoshop work. No gaming, so I don't care at all what the response time is. I would like at least 19", don't care if it's widescreen or...
