You need to know exactly what resistance you need, don't just order a 10k and think that it's "likely" to work. Go to Digikey and just search for "thermistor", there are over 2000 NTC listed ranging from 1 to 1.4M ohms. They are rated at the resistance at 25c so you really do need to know...

Your best bet is to just leave those on "auto", a P35 chipset should be good to close to 600fsb on auto settings, after that you may need to bump them. This run below was done with all settings on auto with the exception of vcore and vdimm. This is on an Asus P5K "vanilla" board.

I agree.... I've found about -5 to -10 difference between Vapo readouts and K type probes.

So what is the price going to be on this unit? The ones I've seen listed on Ebay and XS are well over $400 with no case or controller, it seems that when you add in those items the price is going to be much closer to a Vapo LS than what the CryoZ is supposed to sell for. ;) I don't like to...

To be honest, I dont' know, I've never had both units running at the same time and all the fans on. Running one side at a time, the loudest thing is the 120X38mm 114CFM Panaflo on the back side of the condensers..... you can't hear the compressors running.

I lap all my cpu's and have never had a problem with touching the pins..... that said, it's still a good idea not to do that, just leave the black plastic cover over the cpu while you are lapping, that will prevent you from touching the pins if it worries you. I've never tried Arcticlean...

They are probably the best oc'ing Intel, or any other brand, you can get. I've got a 352 celly d cedar mill, a 336 celly prescott, and waiting on a 630 p4 cedar mill for some ln2 benching. The 352 will do 1m pi on air with stock vcore at 4.8ghz, the 336 does it at 4.2ghz, hopefully the 630 will...

I'd really hold off on trying to get it modded until you see if it will do what you want..... my guess is that it will. As you pointed out, most of the guys having problems are really pushing the quads with very high vcore and high clock speeds for benching. I think at a moderate oc the unit...

You might want to send a pm to "runmc" on xs about modding your vapo. He is local, in same state anyway, to you. Do some reading on xs before you send your unit or cash to anyone, some of the "top" builders are having a difficult time getting things done ;) The vapo ls will handle a quad...
