This one is for all of the old schoolers out there. Gamespy ran a feature on the 10 Scariest Games, and #10 is Infocom's "The Lurking Horror":

Here's the snippet that got me wondering:
Did anyone that played this game know what...
Well, this will be the interim product before the PS3 comes out, who knows when.
From what I have heard the PSX was sold only in Japan, to see how the market acceptance would be. Sales were so bad that Sony decided not to bring it state-side.
In today's news:

Looks like Sony will be offering a 30% smaller version of the PS2 for the same price, kind of like when they produced the PSOne a while back. Anyone have any screenshots that...
You can check what processes are running and which ones may be causing the problem from this site:

Probably would not hurt to do a thorough virus/spyware scan as well. Good luck!
See if your laptop maker offers a windows version of the BIOS update - I recently downloaded and updated my BIOS for my Toshiba Tecra S1 and it ran great - updated in under a minute.
I would suggest removing all of the bundled Creative apps and just using the latest drivers for your card instead. I don't find any use for their apps, and the card works great without them - and no annoying startup apps. :)
To paraphrase a song, "What the world needs now is another MMORPG, like I need a hole in my head".
I am really beginning to wonder how on earth there will be a large enough market to support all of these MMORPGs. The game looks cool, but I wonder how many players that they're targetting...
I have to agree with you on Hitman. I ended up uninstalling it and returning it because I couldn't play it for more than 15 minutes at a time without a crash.
I can think of a lot of security reasons why opening up a downloaded EXE file automatically would be a really bad idea. Perhaps that's why the feature is not in Mozilla?
I concur with Josh - when you're looking at Pentium M CPUs vs. Pentium 4's, it's not a GHz-to-GHz comparison. The L2 cache is 4 times larger on the Pentium M, which makes up the gap in clock speed. The 1.4GHz Pentium M in my Toshiba Tecra S1 seems to keep pace decently with my 2.4GHz P4...
Treky, is this you in the first panel?

I'm not implying that you're one of the a**holes on X-Box Live, though. ;)
Noticed that our forum friend Torgo got the scoop on the latest lawsuit against Infinium Labs ("makers" of the Phantom console). From the [H] front page (10th Edition from Wednesday):
Your name looks good in lights, Torgo. Now go smash something. ;)
It makes me sad to think about how far Interplay has fallen. For a company that been involved in releasing great games like the Fallout series, Baldur's Gate, and MDK among other things, it is sad to see it on its last legs. Goes to show how cutthroat this industry can be though. :(
Anyone have a link to the guide on partitioning strategies that has been posted here a number of times (unfortunately the search function is still down)?
I believe Ice Czar has posted a link to it a couple of times. Thanks for the help!
Not so fast - I've used both Ghost and Acronis True Image, and I've found True Image is easier to use, especially during the initial configuration. I believe both are around the same price. Good luck! :)
I'm thinking about reinstalling my XP Pro installation, which I've been running for the past 1.5 years. Lately, strange things have been occuring (random Explorer crashes, System Restore went on the blink, and problems with WMP). It's not a virus, as I've done multiple scans with multiple...
To clarify, he means make sure you have the 802.1x authentication in your wireless connection properties turned off. And that was what I was going to suggest. :)
On your Thinkpad, check your wireless connection properties. There should be a box to enable 802.1x authentication. Make sure this is DISABLED. I ran into that problem with my Toshiba Tecra S1, and after unchecking the problem was solved.
When was the last time that you updated your anti-virus def files and did a full system scan? Barring the virus scenario, your best bet may be to reinstall.
From the roadmap, I would probably say that the NV43 is the equivalent of the Ti4200 when it first came out, though it looks like PCI-E. I wouldn't be surprised if there have been some changes to this roadmap since it was made - I just can't imagine NVDA not offering a NV4x-based AGP card for...
