    Best Foolproof Camera

I've been tasked with ordering a camera for my business (an emergency animal clinic). $300 range or so. The dealbreaker is that it's going to need to be sturdy, easy to use, and have decent image quality. It would be used for taking closeups (of animals) more than not, so a nice macro...

Win2k hangs with drives attached to ATA133 card

Just upgraded to a 3000+ venice on an Epox 9NDA+. I'm running windows off of an SATA drive, which works fine, and drives running off of the mobo IDE slots work fine too. I can install the PCI ATA card and have it work fine, register fine in Device manager. But when I attach a drive to...

    Drivers don't take effect

9500np epox 9nda+ 3000+ Venice win2k New format, installed windows update and then went to install the Catalyst drivers. Installed fine, reboot and they don't take effect, still 16 bit color. Check for problems in ctrl panel... sure enough there's an error on the primary driver...

    2x512 vs 4x256

Right now I have 2x256 & 1x512 of Kingston HyperX 3000 BH-5. My venice 3000+ & epox 9nda3 don't like odd numbers so I'm looking to trade to either 2x512 or 4x256. I have a guy willing to do the trade with me getting 4x256, but I'm wondering about performance hits. I've seen it said both...

    FT 2x256 or 1x512 Kingston HyperX 3000

Recently upgraded to a s939 and it doesn't like odd numbers of ram chips like my old NF2 did. So i'm looking for someone who might be in a similar situation. I'd trade the 2x256 for 1x512, or 1x512 for 2x256. Respond here or Gondi -at- cox.net

Trying to get my A64 up and running

So I figured the time would be right for a little upgrade. good stuff can be had pretty cheap, so I decided on a 3000+ venice on an Epox 9NDA3J. for $250, can't go wrong. Or so I thought. I hijacked everything else from my previous rig (9500, harddrives, opticals, PCP&C 510 and ram 1x512...

    Uneven DIMM numbers?

I just got an Epox 9NDA3J and a 3000+ venice. Go to hook everything up and i get an error on boot. Something is up with the ram. I upgraded from an NForce2 where I had 2x256 on one controler and 1x512 on another controler and it worked fine. I had assumed that this config would still work...

    What is KILLING my PSUs?

*tears hair out* I'm typing on a PC that ever so often will pop up an error msg "The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\DR2. " I have 2 hard drives that are sitting unplugged in my tower. And a power supply that seems like it's on its way out. This is #3. First...

    No Disc recognized?

Recently got an MSI DR8 and everything was fine... came back from vacation today and it is not recognizing any disc in the drive. Burned, Blank, Retail, doesn't matter. The drive will open/close on command from the eject button and from software and the lights blink when a disc is inserted...

    HD-Burn help

Just got an MSI-DR8. Was excited about the HD-Burn potential so I fired up Nero and had a go at it... error error error.... 3 coasters. The documentation seems to be nil... nor can I find anything online. A few things: It wont let me burn anything over regular CD size w/o overburning on...

    Multidisk CD burner

Does anyone know if they exist in any form? I'm talking something similar to a car's multidisk CD changer, where it holds a casette of 6 cds or so, and can switch them out at will.... it would be a nice time saver for burning multiple CDs or DVDs at once.

    Spot Meter on 10D/300D?

From everything I've read, the 10D and the 300D don't have "true" spot metering systems. A friend of mine with a 300D is wondering what the best way to jerry-rig a spot meter equivalent with his cam. Any suggestions?

    SATA head -> LP4 molex?

In Antec's infinite wisdom, they decided to start putting some SATA power heads on their power supplys instead of the normal Lp4 molex heads. The problem is that SATA is still in baby stages and I'm not planning on picking up SATA drives anytime soon. So now I'm stuck with 2 hard drives that...

    Hard Drive Failures (Help!)

I've got 5 harddrives in my box. Recently I started hearing the "click of death".. Ran a few diagnostics.. chkdsk....started checking SMART.. nothing too strange and I wasn't getting errors. I'll admit that I was keeping the drives fairly full, generally around 10% of space free, with regular...

    Low light, indoors, best bets?

I bring the cam along to the bar once every few months. The only problem is that it's really hard to get the meter/focus right in such low light situations (i'm talking dank pit) The camera is a Oly C-750 and doesn't have an AF Assist light, unfortunately. I can use a flash, but it puts off...

    Pics from work

Not for the feight of heart, FYI. I work at an emergency vet and this case was so unusual I ran home to grab my cam. Got some decent closeups with macro: Here's one Different angle And just a profile shot for an idea of how far it went in Happy Ending: The dog is fine and we...
