That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. I asked the tech rep, and he said "No, it won't even boot if it's a 400FSB Pentium-M." Yes, I've tried pin-modding it. I thought maybe the 1.7 would have trouble booting at 2.26, so I tried it with a 1.5 which are virtually guarenteed to make 2.0ghz at 533fsb...
Alright, here's the situation:
I bought an MSI 1032 barebones from www.rjtech.com . It said on the site that it's compatible with 400/533fsb Pentium Ms. However, when I received it, I installed everything correctly including my Pentium M 1.7ghz 400fsb. I hit power, and the fan starts...
Best Sub-$200 camera is the Canon A510. I have one, and it takes outstanding pictures for a point and shoot. Plus, if EVER you do want to start taking a more serious look into photography it has a slew of manual controls for you to play with and become familiar with.
Well, I've always had an interest in photography, but never spent any time developing it. However, two months ago, I bought a Canon A510 to replace an A60 that shattered into twelve pieces (longboarding mishap). This sorta jump-started my iinterest again and I began to read up on techniques and...
These were taken on my lappy. Pentium-M 1.5ghz + Radeon 9700 64mb (both OC'd), 768mb RAM. Max settings, 4x AF, no AA. 1280x800 originally, downsized to 960x600. Performs virutally the same, just a longer load time. Worth it, I'd say.

I've got an Acer 4501 with a Dothan 1.5ghz and a 64mb 9700m. Use the omega drivers, it roughly doubled gaming performance for me over the stock Acer drivers. I've got my 9700m overclocked, and I run HL2 at 1280x800, high models, high textures, max water, and 4x...
You're looking for Quest For Glory.
You might be able to find the QFG Anthology, which bundled the original Quest For Glory, the SVGA QFG re-release, QFG2, QFG3 (the best one, IMO), QFG4, and the QFG5 demo.
I loved the Adventure/RPG hybrid, and how you could save your character from one...
I got a 128-bit 9550 for $75, it's clocked to 9600pro speeds with stock cooling. Good deal, especially for budget boxes, but they're right... a nice 9600pro for around $100 would take you further for only $25 more.
*looks at sig*
Yep. It'll work. I'll tell you right now though, "CPU bottleneck" is an understatement in the case of a 9500pro... much more so for a 9700pro 256mb.
I'd have to disagree. I have an Acer 4501 with the following specs:
Dothan 1.5ghz
15.4 WXGA
Radeon 9700 64mb (Latest Omega Drivers, OC'd 492/266)
512mb RAM
HL2 runs smoothly at 1280x800 (naitive resolution) with High Models, Medium Textures, 4x AF.
UT2k4 also runs smoothly in higher...
Right. Anywhere you wanted, until a magical super-chopper materialized out of nowhere and peppered you with a couple one-shot-kill explosive rounds. Not to mention that much of the game WAS indoors anyhow. There were still rails in Far Cry, it just did a much better job at hiding them.
As in "Jedi Knight 0". Kyle didn't even know he was a Jedi in "Dark Forces".
Funny to think that JA could actually be thought of as "Jedi Academy: Jedi Knight 3: Dark Forces 4" I'm not even factoring the "Mysteries of The Sith" expansion pack in there...
Application Preference means just that: If the you specify AA ingame, it'll use that setting... otherwise, no AA. In short: Application Preference = AA OFF.
...You've muttered a disgruntled "Shazbot..." when you've dropped/spilled something.
...You know that the best game soundtrack of all time was from Interstate '76.
...You are confident you know the proper way to hold and support a pistol strictly from tactical shooters.
...You have...
Agreed. You have to realize that the Doom3 shot was setup to be a real beauty shot (both in content and delivery), while that shot from FarCry is random in-game, complete with jaggies and low-level (if any...) AF.
Wow, that's a frickin' SWEET deal. I'll be picking these up for any gaming boxes I get asked to build anytime soon.
I see 9500np's still going for more than that so people can softmod them INTO 9700np's!
At the time of release, the 8500 was on par with the GF3Ti500, but as drivers matured, they became comparable to a Ti4200. However, yeah, the 9100 is a rebadged 8500LE so performance would be mostly in between the Ti500 and the Ti4200.
Personally, I'd go with the 9100 since it supports...
