I found a couple of DVD players the other night. One was a DVD/VHS combo, the other just a regular player. The regular didn't work, until I opened it up and found the disc jammed inside. Removed it, it works just fine.
Open it up, pull the circuit board, and replace the capacitors.
WARNING!!!! IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING INSIDE A TV, DO NOT DO THIS! There are lethal voltages inside, especially around the anode (the cable that connects to the tube)
It all depends on the food found, and when. Candy, wrapped? Score! Bags of chips? Score!
During the winter months I literally didn't have to buy any food. I got it all from one grocery store. Nature's fridge.
You can poo it all you want (and I know you will) but really, it's not all bad.
First, PC parts have to be in the weather for a while to ruin. Second, not everyone goes DDing for just PC parts. Third, you *never* know what you're going to find, so it pays to dive often.
When it's raining is a great time (depending on how hard it's raining) because you're less likely to run into other people, and there is a better chance that someone else hasn't gotten to a find before you.
Found some really great "old" demo phones on Tuesday. They weren't in the box, but the accessories were with them in a manilla envelope. Certainly a lot better than my old phones! Retail on one was like $150 (according to what was written on the envelope) and the other about $120.
The technology for putting an image on the unused portion, IIRC, is T@2. Here's a site: http://www.yamaha.ca/computer/cp_disct2.asp
There was another technology mentioned in Maximum PC recently that allows you to burn an image to the TOP of the disc, in a manner very similar to this...
Sounds like we'd get along famously.
My dive partner is like you. Super duper quiet, don't make a ruckus - at all. Park a ways away and walk in. Me? I drive right in, open the doors and start packing stuff away.
Actually I'm currently using a CompUSA power supply. Not by choice, you understand.
I finally went with the Antec True 430. ~$70 shipped @ NewEgg.
As a rule I don't go with cheap power supplies. They're always trouble.
I've got quite a few hard drives in my system, but that number is about to be reduced by two. I'm finally retiring my ATA33 drives.
The PS I posted about above (the URL) has an efficiency rating of > 68%. What exactly does that mean, anyway?
Something beefy that will last for a few upgrades.
I was using an Antec PP-403X. I upgraded to an Asus A7N8X and Athlon XP 2400+ system a few months back. I'm pretty sure that's actually what finally killed the old girl, because it's really not strong enough to handle the load. I 'got...
After several years, mine finally died last night.
I would have done a search for what people recommend, but, well...it's not working.
So what does everyone recommend?

Haven't posted any finds in a while.
I posted in the general forum that they had locked one of my favorite dumpsters. Well, I guess it was short lived, because after the first week it was unlocked ever since.
Having not found anything cool (or unbroken) in quite some time...
Last night was luggage night. Found two practically brand new suitcases. Brand name stuff, really rugged.
Also about 50 rolls of wrapping paper. Not XMAS, birthday and the like. Pokemon, wrestling, Dragonball Z.
Of course. Get you hooked on the product so they can make money off you.
Well...they win. This is the best god damn razor I've ever used. I can even shave against the grain...and that usually causes serious irritation. The blades are expensive, but I'm still using my free one. It's...
No new posts lately, so I thought I'd chime in.
Found two computers in the same dumpster over the course of a week. A 486 SX/25 (woo hoo) and a Pentium something or another. Both had working hard drives (200m and 2.2G) which will be good for some upcoming MAME projects.
Some variety of...
The reason it's on a cox.net address is because the OP (from fatwallet.com) copied the Yahoo ad source and stuck it on his web space. I filled it out and received my razor a while back. It's legit.
