Mounting a bookshelf center channel speaker above a large monitor.

Would placing the speaker on an isolation pad, on its side be a workable solution? The reason why I would rather place the speaker on it's side is because as it will sit above the monitor, the tweeter will be at the bottom and closer to my ears rather than higher up if I have the speaker...

Mounting a bookshelf center channel speaker above a large monitor.

Hi, I plan on using the Edifier 1280Ts for this 5.1 setup. The Edifier speakers left and right, have the tweeter mounted differently on left and right. Do you see any issue with using just the right speaker as the center channel? I think it would be best to use just the right speaker as the...

Mounting a bookshelf center channel speaker above a large monitor.

I remember seeing pictures in a big thread on this forum of peoples audio setup. I saw some pictures of people mounting large bookshelf speaker center channel above their monitor facing down. Since I have no room below my 55" display, would it work mounting an Edifier 1280T bookshelf speaker...

Anyone Prefer 4x8gb over 2x16gb DDR4 (Single rank)?

My benchmarks were so much better with dual rank, however, I made sure to get 16gb modules in dual rank, so 2x16gb. Yes, Dual rank does make a very big different with DDR4 and my 9900K when compared to single rank.

Is DDR5200 an OK speed for 13900K build? Or consider 5600 or 6000?

I found a good youtube video from someone who goes into detail about buying ddr5 memory, I would watch this as its pretty good.

Is DDR5200 an OK speed for 13900K build? Or consider 5600 or 6000?

I'm building a PC for my father, and it will be a 13900K with 64gb of memory. I already purchased the Aorus Master Z790 DDR5 motherboard. He just wants a fast computer and doesn't game, he intends to do video editing, but I can't convince him that this system is overkill. My question is, I...

Is buying a 13900k as hard as getting the latest GPU? They are sold out everywhere?

I'm building a 13900K build and it seems I can't find a 13900K processor at MSRP. Is this something that will be hard to get for many months and I should pay over MSRP for it? Amazon has it for like $900 bucks. Thanks.

Computer random bootup issue when using XMP memory? Should I lower memory speeds?

just to give an update. I changed my memory voltage from AUTO to 1.35 volts, which is the XMP memory voltage rating. I never had an issue since doing this and did not try anything else. I'm not sure why this would make a difference because I thought XMP sets the memory voltage automatically to...

    ddr4 4000mhz 2x8 vs 3600 2x16 dual vs single rank FOR GAMING

Possibly, but you would have to make sure the sticks are matched. I had lots of issues running 4 sticks of ram and had to lower my memory timings to get it to work. I wound up returning 2 sticks. It was a nightmare and I'll never try and use 4 sticks again. yes, it is possible if you buy a...

Computer random bootup issue when using XMP memory? Should I lower memory speeds?

No, just running them at XMP and everything AUTO. I'm not over clocking anything actually. Someone in a different post and happened to have the same motherboard, had an issue where he had to set his timings manually to fix his problems. Do you think that could possibly fix the issue with my...

XMP issues on Aorus Z390 Pro

I have the same motherboard and having an issue where when booting my computer it gives me an error and reduces the timings so that my computer can boot into bios. I never have any crashes in windows though, this is just a booting issue. I am thinking the same as you, to set the memory timings...

    ddr4 4000mhz 2x8 vs 3600 2x16 dual vs single rank FOR GAMING

You definitely want the dual rank (not talking about dual channel here obviously), I was researching this a lot a while back and it seemed the way to go so I spent the time to find dual rank memory and had to go to microcenter and visually verify it had memory modules on both sides of the...

What memory would you recommend to upgrade from 16gb to 32gb?

good point, however, I was never able to run my old memory at the 4266 speeds since it was new. I probably should have returned it but I never did. What I did was run it at around 3800 as that is as high as I could go. What I then did was I ran a number of benchmarks with this 4266 memory and...

What memory would you recommend to upgrade from 16gb to 32gb?

That is actually what I winded up buying, 2x16gb of gskill 3600 that was also dual rank. It was so much faster than my old ram and the dual rank also really helped.

Opps, should have listened. 4 sticks of ddr4 only run at 2400 when rated at 3600. Should I just return the memory and buy 2x16?

I didn't check but I'll say this, if you don't want issues with having to run at lower speeds then I would say to use only 2 modules of dual rank memory. From my research it seemed people even had issues who bought 4 sticks together from what I read online. I'm really not sure of anything but I...

Opps, should have listened. 4 sticks of ddr4 only run at 2400 when rated at 3600. Should I just return the memory and buy 2x16?

I'm read different views of having your memory with dual rank capability. Some people claim dual rank gives you big boosts in speed, but I do know that my 3d Mark CPU score went up big either from the extra 16gb of memory, doubtful, or because of having dual rank memory. 3dMark doesn't seem...

WOW, my new 3dmark benchmark scores with my new dual rank memory is much better. Not the Graphics score, but the CPU score Check this out, because I ran the benchmark before upgrading. 2x8gb memory in single rank = I believe the timings were 3600 Cas 18 GPU = 10,052 CPU = 10,464 4x8gb...

Opps, should have listened. 4 sticks of ddr4 only run at 2400 when rated at 3600. Should I just return the memory and buy 2x16?

Thanks, I actually decided to go to microcenter and pick this Gskill 2x16gb 3600 kit up f4-3600c16d-32gvkc. It seemed a lot of reviews on various sites were saying its like the only dual rank memory left in 16gb. It even seems like the 3200 sticks from gskill have recently went to single sided...

Opps, should have listened. 4 sticks of ddr4 only run at 2400 when rated at 3600. Should I just return the memory and buy 2x16?

Just wanted to hear your thoughts on this. You can see that my memory can't run more than 2600 speed, even though running only 2 modules easily gets me over 3600. Do you think if I bought a kit of 4x8gb, 3600 memory. Do you think It should work at the 3600 speed or probably not? Since dual...

What would you guys do? Keep the 4x8gb I have that runs at 2600 Cas 18? Return the 2x8gb, then grab 2x16gb? Probably looking at the 3200 Cas 16 for $130 and may be stuck with single rank memory. Is 2600 cas 18 really that slow for a 9900k? Would be gaming now on a 1440p resolution. Yes, you...

I am thinking of returning the memory I bought and just getting 2x16 kit. Now the issue is, I wanted to get dual rank memory for the 2x16, but there is no way to tell if its single or dual rank now.

Opps, should have listened. 4 sticks of ddr4 only run at 2400 when rated at 3600. Should I just return the memory and buy 2x16?

I didn't touch VCCSA and VCCIO, and just the Dram voltages. Do these need to be changed? What I did was rearrange the ram so that the pairs are mismatched, and I am able to get as high as 2600, but can't go any higher than that. If I run just 2 modules, a 3600 and 4266, I can easily get 3600...

Opps, should have listened. 4 sticks of ddr4 only run at 2400 when rated at 3600. Should I just return the memory and buy 2x16?

I did, I brought them up to 1.4 and made no difference. From what I gather I believe its common that when you try and run 4 modules together you have to run them at lower speeds. I didn't have matching sticks but each memory pair works at 3600.

Opps, should have listened. 4 sticks of ddr4 only run at 2400 when rated at 3600. Should I just return the memory and buy 2x16?

This is on a z390 Aorus Pro motherboard and a 9900K OK so I asked about this and was warned but I thought I knew better, it didn't help reading that 4 sticks can be faster in gaming than 2 sticks because of memory rank. I had 2x8 gb of 4266 Corsair memory. I then was being cheap and decided...

    Best current Ultrawide 1440 options?

Triple 32" curved G7's would look awesome for sim racing, but you would have to have a good video card to handle 3 1440p monitors. One thing with the G7 is some don't like the curve, I actually like the curve a lot and why I bought a 2nd one, amongst everything else I like about the monitor...

Very true, however, do you play games and have 20 chrome tabs opened? I do all the time. You can get around this by closing all the chrome tabs. Why I decided to just get the 32gb was more for future proofing, I figured, I may just keep this laptop for a while. What I think may happen is a new...

I decided to just get the 32gb and pay the extra money. Should you really get 32gb memory for a ThinkPad I7 with integrated graphics? Or is it a waste of money?

I think the best description of why I would need 32gb is that people who bought laptops 6 years ago and got 16gb instead of 4gb are still able to use their computers today. However, if you got 8gb 6 years ago, you are still doing fine with 8gb today. This assumes the same thing would happen...

I purchased an Lenovo Yoga Gen 6 laptop with an I7. I only got 16gb of ram. My reasoning was that, it only has integrated graphics so I don't think I will play any games that would need 32gb. I also don't do any video editing or really anything like that. This is more my travel laptop, and I...

My ASROCK motherboard is dead, what should I do?

The cpu was defective but I read that usually its the motherboard that causes this to happen. Either way Im not going to use the old motherboard because I cant understand how my cpu would just break. I never oc this cpu either. Could have been the motherboard sending faulty voltage.
