Solved the issue.
The problem was caused by the official detonator drivers from nvidia.com. I think they're version 6693 or something.
I changed to 6702 beta and it's working just fine now.
I own a Sony SDM-HS94P, running on a Windows XP system with a Leadtek Geforce 6800NU video card.
Recently, I've noticed that playing xvid/divx/dvd movies in full screen, with either media player classic, or VLC media player produces some weird, very obvious and irritating horizontal flicker...
Why does nobody mention the Z-2300s?
I was aware of the far, far superior sound of a low end HT system, but then I found that the Z-2300s were only going to cost me $100 with free shipping from ecost, so I picked them up, and they've been a huge upgrade from the JBL creatures.
Yes...

Yes, if I...
So previously, I was running 1280x1024, and it would crash whenever Alyx got into the teleporter.
I went down to 1024x768 and it works fine, with all settings on high.
Sigh... I know my system can handle better... It ran smoothly at 1280 until the crash, and Doom3 is fine at 1280 :(
Oh...
So it's certainly not because we have defective RAM. I'm pretty sure everybody here can run other games just fine.
I'm able to run Doom3 with all the settings turned up, and never had a crash or the stuttering. So I'm pretty sure it isn't the fault of all our collective hardware setups.
I get the memory reference error only in HL2, but CS:S seems to be just fine.
Specs:

Leadtek Geforce 6800 (unlocked to 16 pipes, 6 units with rivatuner)
nothing is overlocked :)
Hey,
Whenever I play Doom3, and then exit and return to the desktop, my brightness/gamma are set really high. Somehow they aren't set back from in-game settings.
I'm using the latest nvidia drivers with my geforce 6800, and the latest 1.1 patch for doom. Oh, and Windows XP SP2.
Any...
Hm.
Odd.
Well, as a side question, do you know how to get the front usb/firewire ports working? I too have an Antec Sonata with the K8N Neo Plat. They don't work even though I hooked them up to the motherboard at JUSB and Jwhatever.
Hey Guys,
My roommate and I both have K8N Neo Platinums with AMD Athlon 64s. We've both had our computers spaz out randomly and not allow us to get IP addresses.
I built my computer first and it was perfect for the last month. Then today it randomly decided I could not get an IP address. I...
I'm new to overclocking and I'm not sure where to start. I'd like a guide if possible...
I have an Athlon 64 Newcastle 3000+ on an MSI K8N Neo Platinum with 1GB of DDR400 Corsair ValueRAM. I also have a Leadtek Geforce 6800nu.
Could anybody help me with starting out on overclocking my CPU...
I just put together my desktop PC with my k8n neo platinum and amd athlon 64 3000+ on Windows XP Pro.
I installed the drivers that came with the CD so that I could get ethernet connectivity. Once that was working, I downloaded the "unified drivers" for the nforce platform from nvidia.com...
Do you think the difference between a 6800 at stock speed and a 6800 at 400/800-whatever will be at all significant in current and future FPS games?
I think I might just skip on the dual dvi.. I can't really afford a second LCD since I got the sony 19"...
Hmm..
I guess technically, if in the future I wanted to add another LCD, I could just add a budget PCI card that has DVI out, right? Or is this a crappy solution?
I'm about to get a vanilla 6800 from buyxtremegear.com. the leadtek is $274 and the xfx is $277.
The leadtek appears to have a much better cooler, while the XFX's cooler doesn't even cover the memory chips.
However, the leadtek has 1 DVI out, whereas the XFX has two.
I may want to add...
I don't fucking believe this.
I'm trying to buy the HS94P, but I can't, because apparently the encoding strip on my credit card is damaged, so my bank says I have to wait until I receive my replacement card to make any purchases involving VISA (including online or phone purchases).
And...
Alas, I wish I didn't have to gamble. Paying the premium price should at least grant me assurance in what I'm getting.
I'm probably going to end up getting the XFX vanilla 6800 instead, because at least I'm guaranteed to get two DVI ports, and the vanilla 6800 doesn't really suck as much as...
But all resellers picture it with one dvi port... plus last week when I was googling around like crazy trying to find out if any GTs at all had dual dvi, I came up completely empty with the conclusion that only the ultras and the XFX vanilla had dual.
I just don't want to dish out the high...
Someone in the "show off your video card thread" on the 10th or 11th page showed his Gainward Golden Sample 6800GT with dual dvi!
Can someone else confirm this?
