Hello,
i've networked the two before but haven't done it for about a year...however BOTH can access the internet through a wireless router without issue. The XP PRO box can see the XP HOME box, but not view any files...XP HOME CAN NOT see XP PRO. Do i need to create a user account or something...
Hello,
I've been looking on the internet for resouces on Information Security jobs, but have come up with a few so-so sites. Does anyone happen to have some good links with entry-level type jobs openings?
Thank you!
Hello,
I am just trying to do a very simple Coldfusion query, using the cfquery and cfoutput tags. In dreamweaver, following an online tutorial from macromedia, i was able to design a very simple site to pull data for. However when I go to preview, I get a file can not be found error...
I've done it on an inspiron and it worked, except the NIC was a 1000/100/10, as opposed to just 100/10. It took alittle bit for me to understand how to do drivers, but got it working in less that 30 min.
Ok, so basically make sure DHCP is turned off on both devices, make sure the Dlink doesn't have its firewall turned on....I think that should get you going. I haven't had any expereince working with smoothwall, read alot about it, but have yet to work with it.
Sorry to dig up an old thread, but do most of you see this as "the wave of the future"? I helped setup a Cisco VoIP once (basically installed the router, and the admins for this company did some remote configuration) and was very impressed at the way things worked. I've also seen some...
The Soloution is using:
Adaware - http://www.lavasoftusa.com
Spybot S&D - http://www.safer-networking.org
and if you know what you are doing - HiJackThis <- this is a dangerous one, so be careful!
Also, inregards to "don't use IE", Its a fine browser as long as you don't click YES...
We do @ my place, but only because our school purchased the building right after I signed the least for rent, and all the cable crap. We kept the digital cable / internet package, because like you, our network was extremely unreliable. If you live in a dorm setting, they probably won't let you.
As dumb as this may sound, have you made sure it is clean of Adware / spyware? I have seen this on PC's before where you can ping anything, yet can't connect to sites. Also ensure that your virus protection is up to date and that the system is clean.
Hello,
Trying to figure some stuff about mass emailng. Basically, I need to do it, however it would be JUST to a list of current clients and NOT solicitations. However, i've heard that you still can get "blacklisted" for doing this? I've been trying to search but just keep getting mass email...
Samsung makes a nice color laser:

but as the other poster said, i would assume the color laser would be more quantity than quality, although i really like it.
Hello,
Had a bit of a problem that I did not forsee when installing Server 2003. Basically, I had an 80 gig drive partitioned 3 ways, with data and programs on 2 and OS on another. I got rid of the old win2000 partition and went to load 2003, which loaded fine. However, the partition took the...
Hello,
tried setting up WEP with a linksys router and had a bit of a problem. I generated 4 keys, and only typed in one of them, is that ok? Also, i would get a connection to the LAN, but couldnt go to the internet. Once i disabled WEP, everything was good again. Any thoughts? This was 64...
one way we got around it was to share it out through another computer. Lucky for us, this extremely old software would accept a "\\pc\printer" type of address for the printer.
Hello,
I seached by the individual part #'s on the motherboard and found it was for a DELL Latitude C600 which supports a pentium 3. Also new price, aviaible on the orginal post. Thank You.
Linksys makes a signal booster for their B routers so you can increase strength. There are guides that talk about atenna positioning, etc. If you have the G though, i don't think Linksys makes a booster yet.

I apoligize, but unfortunatley i cant remeber the exact model i got it for. It was meant as a replace for one that they owner fried (dropped a can of coke on the laptop!). I do have some #s off the board, maybe those will help. The price I am asking is actually below what it was purchased for...
The item i am trying to get rid of is a dell laptop motherboard. It will support a pentium III processor. Integrated modem / NIC. This has no display, no hdd, no ram. It is JUST the motherboard. Asking price: $500. It is for a DELL LATITUDE C600.
Thank You.
I realize that, basically, thats what i got it for. It has never been used. I'm still trying to find the invoice for it. I had a really hard time finding this board, which i think why the price is high. Once i find the orginal invoice, i may do some adjustments. - Roast
Hello,
The following is a DELL motherboard from a laptop. Pentium 3. No processor, ram, etc. a few pics are availible. This was ment as a replacement board for another machine, but they backed out on the repair.
I will upload the pics later today. Price is $700. Please PM me if...
regarding your question of why its named F: instead of C:. In past experience, i've loaded quite a few XP machines. If you have more than 1 harddrive attached, more 1 than one CD-ROM, a zip, anything it would see as a physically attached storage device may cause that.
I had a similar problem trying to play quake3 etc, on an edu network. I just eventually gave up because they really restricted the bandwidth and i didn't feel the need to argue for more so i could game. Basically, i would a great ping for 20 sec, then it would skyrocket to 800.
