I haven't tried OCing it in a while, but from what I remember, the strap will not go up at all. I was able to raise the multiplier to 31x but it wasn't always consistent. Either way it's an amazing chip to fold on!

I feel you OP. I also lost all my iPad data this way including songs I recorded in GarageBand. Really sad. iCloud backup didn't seem to have my GB data either.

1 more vote for the Air here, I had a 13" Pro which was great but the Air is an absolute pleasure to use all-around. Really fast too. Also, you don't need to worry about viruses on a Mac. They do happen but they're so few and far apart that the chance of her computer being infected is negligible.

Nope, 2011 is different because it has straps which keep the RAM and PCIE from going out of spec. So the BCLK range is like 100-110 (100 strap), 117-133 (125 strap), an so on. Divide BCLk by strap to get PCIE bus frequency. As long as its between 90-110 it's usually good. Yes indeed it is :D...
