Right now, there's a graphics bug on the PS3 that causes effects like fire and magic to flicker or not show up at all (Moonlight Butterfly gets interesting). Playing in offline mode should fix it, but there will have to be a patch to resolve it in online mode.

Every time I pick up the bow, my character freezes but the game seems fine. If I go to inventory to equip it, my character has disappeared and the game no longer responds to keyboard commands but I can still turn the camera. I tried several times and gave up.

Those of you complaining about a click fest, what difficulty are you playing on? I set it to "expert" and if I run in wildly swinging, I get killed pretty damn fast. So unless I just suck, I recommend playing on a higher difficulty. I was worried about the game after reading peoples' first...

I didn't use the drake sword on my first character, but I started a new character and decided to get the drake sword. I felt like it almost trivialized the game up until Sen's Fortress. I was quite familiar with the areas which helped a lot, but I was glad I didn't use it the first time.

I'm glad this was mentioned. I've had it happen many times on PS3. I've had 3 second late rolls that send me off of a cliff and late flask uses. It's not too often but in a game where it can account for so much, it can be really frustrating. I've also had buttons simply not respond at all...

If you use the strong attack/battle axe, it will knock them down and you can kill them pretty easily but I doubt it works on the giant ones. Is there a "best way" back to Firelink after getting to Blacksmith Andrei?

I took your advice and I stuck with it this time. I'm near the end of the game and I wouldn't want the difficulty any other way. You learn, adjust, adapt and eventually survive. It also wasn't as difficult as I thought. I'm looking forward to more punishment and reward come October 4th.

Maybe I don't deal well with the rage it induces at times and I'm probably not as good as most. You can die several times before you figure out what to do, and many more times trying to do it. I almost never feel cheated, though. And the feeling you get from finally winning is not like...

Where did I say easy difficulty? The difficulty in Demons Souls is a breath of fresh air, but it's so punishing that I can't always justify spending the time just to get where I was to try another strategy.

I love everything about Demons Souls, and this looks to be more of the same, but does anyone else wish for a difficulty setting? If I could tone it down just a little bit it would easily be a favorite.

I died a lot starting out on hard, but I always felt I was making some sort of mistake. I practiced and referenced the manual. Found some combination of signs and items that worked well. The combat system really feels good when you do well. That's not to say it's not without it's problems...

Go into the advanced picture settings and look for the HDTV size setting. You should be able to change it to the next setting which fixed overscan entirely for me.

Exactly what I was looking for. I'll give this a try tonight. I'm assuming, though, that the blurry red text is still there? Bold blue text also seems to have the problem. When put against normal text, there was almost a 3D effect produced. Pretty distracting on an otherwise very good display.

I just got Morrigan and now I'm at the first city. Groups of refugees and bandits.. whatever, around groups of 8 tear me apart on hard. I just get surrounded and destroyed. Guess I will have to change tactics and figure out what I'm doing wrong.
