Bought some OCZ memory at the local retail store; Fry's Electronics,
sent the rebate package to OCZ and I got a telegram from OCZ that my
rebate claim is invalid because the retailer is not authorized in spite that
Fry's Electronics is listed on the OCZ website. :mad::rolleyes:
I will...
I want to build a new system using the Intel Q6600 quad core CPU.
Word on the street says you can take this to 3Ghz easy with
FSB = 333Mhz [333Mhz x 9 multiplier]. This is good enough for me.
Questions;
1. They say you should look for G0 stepping of this CPU to make life
easier. lol...
No HDR;

With HDR;

HDR looks worse to me in this particular implementation,
what do you think?
I haven't upgraded my PC in 5 years and been out of gaming for
at least 2 years, hence it's time to buy a new game rig.
The questions are,
1. Do these next gen games look good in 1024 x 768 with AA/AF or
are these game far superior in 1600 x 1200 mode IF you use
a 21" CRT not LCD...
I always favored Nvidia historically but you have to give credit where it's
due. R300 and beyond was great. From a gaming point of view, you
should be without bias and just pick the card that will do the job
you ask.
Many games are benched at 1600x1200 resolution with AA/AF which
gives...
I haven't followed the computer market in a year and I was wondering if you can give me a quick skinny on what to get. I plan to build a new
game rig within the next month or two and what is the story with the
Nvidia vs ATI war? I did notice that good video cards are over $500
now and saw the...
Maybe this has been discussed before..........
I'm going to delay my computer upgrade itch in favor of ...
perhaps -> Nforce 4, PCIe, and using dual GF6 video cards (SLI or
equivalent mode :) )
Whom else?
The way I see it.. Maybe by next summer we will have quality of
quality games...
Overclocking madness.
AMD 2.9ghz vs. Intel P4EE 4.0ghz
AMD seems to edge out victory in the majority of benchmarks.
http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20040419/index.html
Intel 'EE' has a 1.1 Ghz head start and fails to impress.
When do you think an AMD 3.0 ghz will be released (retail) ?
A few thoughts. Nvidia says we need two power connectors
to power the video card. Nvidia also recommends a 480w
power supply.
Those two facts are causing people to call the chip a
power hungry beast.
Now the weirdness.
Toms Hardware did a system power test and it showed that
during...
I have three questions.
I have four computers on a home network like so.
DSL modem -> switch -> 4 computers
I have DSL static IP service so they are all connected to
the internet all the time. Each computer has it's own
static IP given to me from the service provider.
I don't know...
I haven't built a system in a long time. I have a general question
regarding the Nforce2 and DDR. I thinking of getting the $60
'low end' Nforce2 based board and these boards only support
single channel DDR mode which is fine for me.
Will one stick of 256 meg be adequate for WinXP Pro in...
