I don't know how many PC users have heard of NIX, I don't have a MIL, my neighbors, postman, and car mechanic are not the sort I have conversations regarding operating systems with, (my BMW mechanic can die in a fire btw), so I don't know that either. I don't know what the Chairman of Lenovo is...
It's sort of intense the first time, but gets almost comical soon after.
It's just not for me.
Also, I don't want to be found dead wearing nothing but my VR headset in pile of my own goo.
Views-Follows-Engagement has already happened. Sales per view/engagement is next. While influencers and follows(ers) can easily be replaced by bots, (and good riddance for the most part), actual sales can't. At least not yet. Bots don't currently have spending power. Will that always be the case...
Discharge your phone fully until it turns itself off.
Turn it on again and let it turn itself off.
Plug your phone into a charger and, without turning it on, let it charge until the on-screen or LED indicator says 100 percent.
Unplug your charger.
Turn your phone on. It's likely that the battery...
Bethesda should really keep control of their mouth right now. Vitriol or general crappiness towards your customer base seldom works out for a dev. While we might not understand development, we know what's fun and what isn't. Does Bethesda still know?
That said, I expected FO4 in Space and got...
11 is not all that much better, some would argue it's worse, and it has some UI changes that some find annoying. Change for change's sake typically receives push back. As they EOL 10, 11 will take over though.
The "lets make everything look and work like a 3rd rate mobile app" school of UI...
There is always an office slob. Always. No matter how many you fire, no matter if you started hanging their corpses on the restroom doors, you will have them. They are more of a type than they are individuals, and getting rid of one typically leads another to arise.
They don't want to be held to any sort of standard. I understand that sentiment, but they need to accept that they will be compared to the standard they fear BG3 will set. If they are found lacking, then they need to up their game. Maybe they can speak out about the game industry machine, the...
I never got the UI change for the sake of UI change. Usually it's no better than the old UI, and often enough they actually make it worse. Though I mostly attribute that to the weird, "make everything look like a low rent mobile app", thing that MS and Apple seem to be into the last decade or so.
"Dark Apes Of Fate". An attempt at a horror shooter, that came out around the same time as the first F.E.A.R. game, but was just plain weird. More recently, Scorn. Also just plain weird.
Also the Smurfs game for Colecovision.
We used to do it all for the nookie, now we do it all for the views.
Normally not keen on there being much jail time for victimless crimes, but sometimes, the stupidity deserves to be rewarded with a long stint away from the rest of civilization.
If true, and I more lean towards this being truth than fiction, it's hard to feign surprise. TickTock should be closed, and a means to limit extranational corporations from being able to gather this much data so easily should be implemented.
The shape of that means should be the total and...
It's not for me due to lack of a track pad and the button/stick/d-pad layout not being to my tastes, but it's nice to see it come in at a competitive price point with what promises to be really good performance.
Valve is treating the Steamdeck like a console in many ways. Low profit on hardware...
I paid for most of my Steamdeck from doing that. It was hilarious. I earned a Magi figurine you can display in your SteamVR home from playing a game called Overturn. Out of curiosity I looked to see what they were selling for. I got $10 for it. Then put in a buy order for it @$5 on a lark, got...
I spend way too much time on the crapper because of the steamdeck. I spend way more time burning steaks on the back yard grill because of the steamdeck. I even consider, if only for a second, well more like a nano second, using public transportation so I can play the steamdeck instead of drive.
I've played a few stinkers, but I never play them long enough to really have them imprint on me well enough to be remembered.
So I will go with great games that pulled the rug out from under me at some point and ruined it.
"FarCry when the trigens appeared."
"Brutal Legends when it became an...
Free 2 Play, leads to Pay 2 Win more often then it doesn't. Pay 2 Win games are a pox on the industry as far as I am concerned. Cosmetics only F2P is fine with me, but anything giving an in game advantage over other players that don't pay is garbage afaic.
I have issue with having multiple...
The Steamdeck is a PC running Nix that defaults to booting into a custom UI. Reboot into desktop mode and it acts as any PC running Nix, or Windows should you choose to install it, would. I don't view it as problematic to lump it in with other PCs running Nix.
I use the track pad under the stick...
Testing games for the Steamdeck's set hardware, and testing for more diverse hardware are two different things. But it is definitely walking the right direction for Nix users. Flatpack installs, Steam, and much of what we do these days on a PC happens in a browser. Nix is great for that most of...
Never. They will be competitive with the top end integrated stuff though. They have the money. They could hire the talent. They could be top tier, but they will not stick with it. They will take it as far as they need to, for the server and workstation market.
I never really liked the execution of these devices. Even if I have little use for what they offer, I can see the utility, when they are set up properly. Problem is that Alexa devices were meant to be a way for the users to spend more money, and as data collection devices. Data that's meant to...
If it's already all on the chip, which is required for this sort of thing to work, I don't see an advantage for the consumer to turning this or that on/off based on licensing, enterprise customer or not. You are always going to pay full price for the chip. The licensing will just be a revenue...
The advertisers will come back. Slowly, quietly, once the stupidity quiets down. They want access to those potential customers. If the kill all white people real hate speech did not scare them off, the odd ball stuff the left makes believe is hate speech the will not either.
If the person did...
Really? My experience with UPS is markedly worse where I live than with FedEx. Worse still with USPS. I suspect it is more a local/regional distribution center/branch/driver issue than a union/non union one. Huge companies do have issues maintaining a uniform experience nation/world wide.
Remember when Steam had skins?
Steam itself does look dated, but could you imagine the outcry if they tried to update it's appearance, or gasp, UI? Truth be told, I would prolly be one of them complaining. I can find my owned games, my on line gaming friends, and new games to buy, pretty...
The games I used to play in triple monitor, I now play in VR. My last triple monitor setup, was 3 x 1080p 43" TVs. I now just use a 4k 55" TV, and for flight/racing sim games I use the Valve Index HMD with my trusty trusty G27, and Virpil HOTAS setup. Many racing/flight sim games support it...

The 1Tb micro Sd, or at least a 500Gb one, really is a must for the deck.
Similar for me. Got my notification on the 18th of July, ordered it late that after noon, received it on the 25th. One year 9 days between preorder and receipt of my 512Gb Steam Deck. Hopefully they learn from this experience when they launch the next version of it. I wonder if they will try...
Let us just let the EU do these things and sit from the sidelines and see how it turns out. In 50 years we can decide to copy them or not. Since I suspect the EU will be reduced to either a third world caliphate, or a failed communist state by then, we will be able to learn form their mistakes.
They don't really have to bother. It's going to happen organically now that Apple has to adopt USB C anyway for the EU market. Everyone else is moving to it or has already moved to it in the US market. Everything I have bought in the last 2 years that uses a cell phone charger uses C. Including...
I tried to like it, I just never could get into it. It's one of those games that works well, and seems to have all the ingredients, it just doesn't do it for me. Glad other people like it though. I feel like I should like it more than I do, but I just end up playing more Saints and Sinners, or...
