This has nothing to do with ethics. This is a business choosing to set it's price given market demands. The market sets the price. If there wasn't demand for these drives to be sold at a premium then they wouldn't be doing it. They could charge $1,000 for the 80GB drive for all I care...
Yes it is most certainly worth it. I bought a 3007WFP-HC from the outlet about 6 months ago and it has been fantastic. I also got the 5 year advanced exchange warranty. They carry the same warranty as new so there really isn't a risk there. You just get to pay several hundred dollars less for...
I just purchased a 3007WFP-HC which I'm in love with. However, I now need to game at 2560x1600 whenever possible. Since I just got that monitor I don't really have the spare cash to do a full out upgrade. I would like opinions on what would be the more valuable upgrade to me in terms of...
QFT. This deal they are running right now is VERY good. The last day for it is this Wednesday. I will likely pick up a Vostro 1500 as I've been looking at laptops lately.
My friends card fried this evening and he needs a holdover card until he builds a new rig from the ground up next year. He needs something on par or better than his 6800 GT 256MB. Thanks for any advice. He's looking to spend $100-$150.
That is the key phrase. He deleted the partition that had the bootmgr on it. I.E. that told the system what OS to boot. If he boot the vista disc again he should be able to choose a repair option. Then he could select his OS that is messed up. Vista should recognize that the boot is messed...
Is your SATA drive set to your first boot drive in the BIOS after the CD/DVD drive? If that is the case then that leads me to believe that your SATA is going bad. I have vista installed on 2 raptor drives in RAID 0 and have had no issues.
Yes, just use the 64 bit disc but of course use your product key that came with your 32 bit. I have 64 bit installed yet own the 32 bit retail upgrade disc.
He won't need to do a custom install. There is no point in him doing an upgrade install considering he just put Vista on his PC. The only reason to do this is if he had files on the drive he needed, which is unlikely considering he installed Vista within the last week.
Is your version an upgrade version or full retail/OEM?
If it's an upgrade version you have to install over the current install, you can install the 64bit over the 32 bit that is currently installed. If your version is a full version then you would be fine to format and can jump right into...
Not correct. It will run in HD. 720p is a 1280x720 image. Therefore 1280x1024 is plenty good for HD. I've had my 360 hooked up this way via VGA before I got my new 50" HDTV. You will have bars in most games. Sorry I don't have pics for you.
Unplug everything but processor, memory, graphics card, and power supply then try again. Also reseat the video card and the memory and ensure all fans are plugged into the mobo. If that doesn't do anything try another video card if one is available.
Hey guys. I'm gonna have more info on this motherboard to add tomorrow. I ordered the following ram for my system OCZ DDR2 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400 800MHz Dual Channel Kit - OCZ2P8002GK. It will be coming in in the morning. I'll post comparison benches so folks can see some DDR1 to DDR2...
Glad this has been helpful for some people in my situation. As for your question about the ASRock, it supports both DDRII 553 and 667 so you'd be good to go with the 533 if that's what you chose.
I've really been impressed by this board for the price. It's only $57! Like I said in my original post. This board is limited with overclocking due to my ram situation and the BIOS limitations. Once the boards stabilize out and more are available I'll make the jump to a nicer one.
OK, so I decided to take the plunge to the new Core2Duo after reading all the glowing reviews. Here is my new ghetto C2D Setup. New parts are in Bold.
Intel E6300 @ 1.96Ghz (mild OC due to board and ram)
Asrock 775Dual-VSTA
1GB Unmatched DDR400 Corsair Ram (one stick XMS, one Value! :p...
You couldn't be more wrong on the life of current plasma displays. Most are rated at 60,000 hours of viewing. That is more than 20 years if you watch it 8 hours a day.
Actually, NO Sony televisions support true 1080p input. The best they currently do is upconvert the signal. This is just Sony marketing BS that they always do in an attempt to downplay their competitors. The "standard" for HD is 1080i, not p. There are no HD broadcasts in 1080p currently.
That's flawed logic. You can get a very capable CRT HDTV for around $600. Cheaper if you want to go with a smaller set/poorer quality. That put's you at $1,000. Try to build a PC today that will run CoD2 with good details, resolution and some AA and you will spend WELL over $1,000. It is...
3-5 hours a DAY? That's a lot of time you can devote to an MMO. I don't know of any worthwhile MMO's in beta stages, or even free ones that are worth it. I'd recommend Guild Wars. You have to actually pay for the game, but there is no monthly fee.
Actually, that TV has had some price drops. You can get that Sanyo 30" for $562! It's a great deal for a very good HDTV. It has HDMI as well as a build in HDTV tuner. Best new bang for you buck HDTV in my opinion.
Hmmm, I'm needing an AGP replacement for my 9800 Pro. Wonder when these things will come down in price. I'd also like to see some reviews to determine performance differences between this card and the PCI-E version.
The L90D+ is outstanding. I've had mine about a week. It puts my old 19in CRT to shame. The CRT looks fuzzy and dull in comparison. I can see NO ghosting whatsoever in games. The display is nice and bright. My only gripes are the location of the monitor settings, and the narrow viewing...
I just got my L90D+ two days ago. It is incredible. I used to be anti LCD. Playing games on this has made me a convert. My CRT looks fuzzy and dull compared to the LCD. I see absolutely no ghosting in games. I run it using the Analog connecter at 75hz. My only gripe are viewing angles...
I just ordered a Hyundai L90D+ from Newegg, they have them at $369 with free shipping. There have been a ton of great reviews for this monitor on this forum as well as ocforums.com It's an 8ms display, so it's about as good as it gets for a gaming LCD. That would be my reccomendation to you.
It's all about the games man. Who cares if you run 1600x1200 if you can't play games like Resident Evil 4, Metroid Prime 1+2. There are great games on PC, but if you don't also play consoles, you're missing out on some great games. Not to mention that it's way more fun to have friends over...
