    Metro Vacuum ED500 is $47 @Amazon!!!!! Hot!

I bought one of these a few years ago and use it regularly. It's one of my favorite power tools, perfect for the job of removing dust from any non-fragile computer component. Consider using a vacuum to capture dust from things that haven't been touched in awhile, since it'll blow a dust cloud...

Monitor set up for someone who's bedridden?

These look pretty neat. http://www.ergoquest.com/overbed-workstations.html Their zero gravity workstations also have some better multiple monitor designs. Probably less expensive to build something 100% custom to his situation.

EVGA GTX 980 Ti as low as ~$590 @ Jet.com

Mine shipped today showing "Fulfilled by HPP Enterprises" ... never heard of 'em. Seems like they're an Amazon store. I figure my odds at getting a game code are essentially zero. Ah well -- you win some, you lose some.

    [W]arm? MSI GTX 980Ti 6GD5 V1 $629

Add to cart for the $20 discount. Free 4-7 day shipping, or Shoprunner folks get free 2-day shipping. Seems to be the best price on any GTX 980 Ti that I can find right now-- although it's a SKU that appears to be heavily based on reference cooling and IMO looks kinda cheap compared with...

I bought my first QX2710 Evo II from Amazon a few months back. Bought another from accessorieswhole on ebay and it was here in 2 days. Both are perfect, though the QNIX branding has slightly changed, otherwise it's exactly the same. Both will do 110Hz no issues. I did not pay for pixel...

Anybody tried this before? DisplayPort KVM output to Dual Link DVI-D active adapter?

houkouonchi, based on your excellent advice, I bought a Gefen EXT-DVIKVM-241DL (their 2 port DVI KVM and audio switch) and an active DP->Dual DVI adapter on fleabay for around $125 combined. New monitor is a QNIX QX2710 LED Evolution ll at 110Hz. The KVM didn't come with the IR switcher, so I...

    Monochrome monitor on modern PC?

Post a pic of the connector or a description of the pin count and layout... you will probably need to do some splicing and soldering, but I bet it could work just fine.

Anybody tried this before? DisplayPort KVM output to Dual Link DVI-D active adapter?

Just picked up a Dual Link DVI-D Korean monitor. I'd like to upgrade in a few months to a 4k DisplayPort monitor, and don't really want to buy (and subsequently sell) two high end KVM switches. If I can use a DP KVM with a DVI Adapter, that would be ideal. Here's what I'm thinking of trying...

How do YOU set up monitors for people with bad eyesight?

Easy fix is to get lower resolution displays. Or same resolution, larger displays. You can control icon sizes and text sizes for default controls in windows, but that's about it. If they're using a lot of web apps, install a plugin to automatically increase the size a couple notches to 120%.

Got mine a few days ago, threw it in a Dell E6420 Laptp w/ QM67 chipset and did a fresh install. Good first impression, that's for sure. I could probably eek out a bit more performance by tweaking till I'm blue in the face, but I'm not too worried about it. In comparison to my previous...

    Das or Ducky?

For me.... Razer BlackWidow mx blue (regular) at home, mx brown (silent) at work. Not the ultimate version, didn't want the rubbery, flake-off keycaps. I've been using them both for a several months and they're both quite nice in my opinion. The mx blue/regular version is a fingerprint...

Win7 64bit - need to hide folder from domain user groups

Easiest: setup a group policy to disable viewing of hidden files and folders for all users in DomainC. Use a startup script to run something like this: attrib +H %USERPROFILE%\desktop\folder_name Medium: Store all apps that you want to hide on a share. Mount the shared drive when users...

HP Micro Server NL36 8GB RAM FreeNAS 8 running on a 16GB SSD RaidZ1: 4x2TB Hitachi 7200RPM I spent $600 on the entire rig. I wouldn't go for 7200RPM drives if I did it again, even this small setup with fairly low power consumption can perform sequential read/writes at more than double the...

Suggestion for relatively inexpensive "compact" USB keyboard

I bought an HHKB Pro -- it was awesome, as long as I was only using vim. I think the Lite version is probably about the same, though it is a little easier to use for everyday things, not nearly as good as the Leopold. Avoid knockoffs. Leopolds are really nice keyboards, I don't think you...
