Significant differences between Intel and AMD for office tasks?

No official benchmark, but when my work laptop spools up cores in Excel, I can't help but think that 10 e-cores are letting me down.

Intel Confirms that FinFET MRAM is Production Ready

Doesn't this compete with Optane? If so they might not have any incentive to release a product. Also had to look up whether Optane used MRAM. It uses 3D XPoint which one source says is phase change memory.

    Samsung Unveils MicroLED Displays

OLED has blue pixel life expectancy issues, which can cause burn in (or whatever they're calling it). As long as the screen is large enough to hold all of the LEDs then this is typically considered superior. It might have higher power consumption.

NVIDIA NDA & HardOCP - POLL

Man, I misread the title and thought that something in the contract bound you until the year 2080. I looked all over trying to figure out how that was possible. Anyway, I voted yes because NDAs are common in the tech sector and this one doesn't seem that bad. [H] was never a leaky site anyway...

Elon Musk's Satellite Broadband Clears Crucial U.S. Hurdle

According to Ars, the SpaceX satellites will orbit at about 1,200km of altitude and the current slow satellites orbit at about 35,400km. At the speed of light (299,792,458 m/s) a radio signal takes about 8ms to travel 1,200km and back. It takes 29.5 times longer, or 236ms to travel 35,400km and...

Are OLED tvs the perfect technology to use as a large pc monitor?

Google’s Featured Snippets Are Destroying Small Businesses

They had a business model, and then their visits dropped 65% in a month according to the owner. Let's assume he's correct and honest, then he seems to have a valid complaint. AMD: Sorry, No Official Ryzen Drivers for Windows 7

3D and Curved Screen TVs Fade Away

I thought the opposite. Every now and then I go to Best Buy to drool over the OLEDs. I noticed I was staring a little harder at the curved TV and thought it looked slightly better and the best I could figure was it had less noticeable glare. Other factors may have come into play, like the flat...

    Intel Kaby Lake i7-7700K CPU De-Lid & Re-Lid Results @ [H]

I see your screenshot at 1.368V and 5GHz, but I was wondering if you were able to achieve 4.9 at a lower VCore than without the new TIM Also, you said your previous attempts at 5GHz you used 1.35V, does that mean you were able to push more voltage after the de-lid? Don't you have 3 more...

5G Will Be A Game Changer, Generating Trillions By 2035

CPU Water Block That Installs In 12 Seconds

It kind of defeats the 12 second installation, but I could see the product being delivered a little too tall and then using TIM or dye to judge the spacing. Then you just lap a little material off the bottom.

CPU Water Block That Installs In 12 Seconds

I like it, once everything is installed I don't really move anything afterward anyway. My main concern is how consistent is the height difference from chip to chip? I'd hate to have poor contact or crush something.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) Announces Swift PG27UQ

For pure pixel switching I am pretty sure it's OLED, TN, IPS, VA. We just haven't seen an OLED that wasn't a TV with all of the TV overhead. Looks like the IPS is required here for the color accuracy and contrast ratio.
