Huh?? Maybe I am misunderstanding here but I never had to plug my 360 controller into the console to get it to work. Also is there actually people that do not turn on their 360 with the controller (accomplished by holding the big 360 button)? I don't think I have touched my 360 power button...
I doubt cube games will be downloadable. For something like RE4 it would be over 2 gigs most likely since it comes on two disks and the disks hold 1.8Gb. I would guess they will release only up to the N64.
Is there any trick to get Cool & Quiet to work on an AMD processor? My processor is currently overclocked to 270x9 or 2430mhz. Now reading around I thought that Cool & Quiet would still work when overclocking. But when I enable it in the bios my processor runs at 1350mhz in windows. I tried...
Pretty sure the Neo 2 will not come with that bios. I am running one and that bios is fairly new. As far as I know though, as long as the bios supports the venice core the cpu will work just in single core mode.
It is a fun generic shooter. The ability to upgrade your weapons was kinda nice. Graphics were ok, nothing astonishing except for the cutscenes which look like complete shit (on the PC version). Story is completely crap, makes no sense whatsoever. Seems like a bunch of disconnected events to...
Far cry is a great single player experience but so is republic commando. Only problem with it is it a lot shorter and I found it much easier. Warcraft 3 has a great story and is a lot of fun to play. I found Area 51 to be a fun romp as well but way to short. hmmmm, so to summarize my...
I have a set of athenas and they are great speakers for the price. I listened to many different sets before I bought them and I thought they beat many other higher priced speakers. I bought a Yamaha RX-V 1400 to power mine. Great reciever. I put on 12 gauge speaker wire just because I got a...
This is cool & quiet running. Basically it downclocks the processor when it is not under full load. I would not worry about this. Under load your processor is running at it's rated speed.
I don't really care about the history of the conflict. The story in the game made absolutely no sense. It did not feel continuous at all. For example the one mission where you are captured and put in one of those stasis pods. After you are attacked they wake you up to defend the ship...
Ummmm, no they will not. They display 60 frames in progressive mode and 30 in interlaced. That is like saying a CRT monitor will display as many framerates as you send it, it is not true. Hence the need for the Vsync option.
Very true. I guess it all depends on how you define new core. If that is your definition than I am ok with that.
I am more curious, if (speculating totally here) the R500 is a new core that is the base for the R600, does it have the Geometry shader hardware that is supposed to be a...
You are halfway there. 1080p = 1920x1024. 1080i=1920x512.
At 1080p the framrate is 60 times a second. At 1080i the framerate is still technically 60 frames per second but it only displays 30 unique frames. For the display of 1080i it will show all the even lines of the frame and then all...
I don't know if you can use transistor counts to tell if it is a new core. From what I have read, they speculate that adding FP32 will add aprox 30% more transistors. Add 8 more piplelines and SM3.0 tech and the 300 million transistors reported for the r520 is reached.
I am not saying that...
You aren't just paying for the materials. You are paying for the millions of dollars of R&D that goes into these cards. As they get more complicated the cost of that is going to go up.
Can you post links proving that? Obviously this is all speculation at this point. Most of this stuff came from the Beyond3d forums so take that as you will. As for the transistor count, they say adding FP32 functions will add about 30% to the transistor count, which would make 234 million...
Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me to go unified shader architecture till they have to which is required for longhorn which isn't out till 2006. It would make sense to just extend the current architecture a little to make a stopgap product.
